![[The Prowler] The Prowler is a cool character that's never been given a chance to reach his full potential. Created by Stan Lee as a "human" Spider-Man, Hobie Brown didn't have powers but instead relied on his wits, courage and the ability to work with what was around him. He made his window-washing rig into a suit that enabled him to go toe-to-toe with Spidey - that's one heck of a first chapter! Sadly, the character has been pretty underdeveloped since. Like many great customs of this character, my Prowler is based on a Marvel Legends Black Panther body. I go off-script with some crazy '90's style fingerblades courtesy of a DC Direct AzBat. Not much good in real life but we sure loved 'em, didn't we, kids? His wrist-blasters are a random strap of machine-gun bullets turned backwards so the round ends are showing. The gloves are made with GreenStuff. Instead of doing something sensible and using a Spawn head, I attempted an Eric Larson-esque sculpt. He ended up looking more like Platypu](userimages/customs/19000/18967-1.jpg) The Prowler | ![[Odin] I started the Big O back when I began Sif last winter - I never finished him because, honestly, I never knew how. Odin has sported countless looks over the years. Unlike Loki or Thor, he's never had a set costume - I had a bunch of pics I'd gathered off of the web but none of them seemed quite right. I set the figure aside and did a bunch of other customs but I always knew I'd have to complete Odin sooner or later. For a while Odin here was sporting PLANET OF THE APES armor - at one point he was going to be resplendant in fur. In the end I went with a banded armor look, opting to keep Lord Thor's pants. I figured it made sense, continuity-wise, and saved me worrisome paint-rub. Odin is built off of a Hasbro Marvel Legends Lord Thor figure. His shoulder armor and boot details are from a ToyBiz Beta Ray Bill figure. His beard is from a McFarlane Zeus figure and is attached below Lord Thor's nose; I sculpted the rest of the beard as well as the hair, adding a new mouth from a ToyBiz Marv](userimages/customs/19000/18959-1.jpg) Odin |

Well, I'm a topical guy so I decided to get in on the action. Anyone up for... DARK PUNISHER? The Punisher wasn't dark enough so I pulled his face off. Then I painted his uniform the color of Satan's underwears

I shaved down any raised elements until she was "blank" then sculpted everything up using Green Stuff. The boot-tops were done in stages as seperate elements and then glued in place. I removed a lot of the "savage" bits of her hairstyle and messed around with it a bit until I got the look I was after.Trying to get her bra off caused a few problems... but enough about my personal life. I found I had to resculpt the chest area to get it perfectlty smooth, so if Sif seems a little bustier than Jen Walters is... well, let's just say it's an Asgardian attribute.Once it was hand-sanded down to a nice even surface I painted M'lady using Citadel and Model Masters paints. ![[Black Widow] Sick of looking at the scary cross-dresser we were given in place of the real Black Widow, I decided to craft my own, this time in her 1980's costume.
Natasha started life as a Skrullectra body. One of my early experiments in dyeing plastic, I popped her in while the water was too hot and she suffered some bubbling across her abdomen. I scraped that mess away, filled in the holes with Green Stuff and resanded to get the surface nice and smooth. Her head is Maria Hill, with rescuplted hair. Tried to go for that feathered '80's look but it came out a little flat. Created the collar of her body suit with a piece of electrical tape; folded over and glued into place, it's surprisingly solid. Painted her with Citadel colors, sealed her with Testors Semi-Gloss coat. Her wrist-blasters came out a little large- the original metal tubes I was using proved too thick and, also, gluing straight cylinders onto a tapered wrist proved trickier than I thought. By his reasoning, villains don't think of themselves as evil, they simply have different goals than the heroes. Me, I don't buy it... and neither does Hyde. This guy? EVIL. He will eat your lunch and pop the bag. No "misunderstood scientist" or "eco-avenger" here; I mean, Hyde once nearly beat Jarvis to death! Jarvis! Can you believe it?
Hyde began life as a HML series 2 Hercules; his head is from FFF series The End Hulk. I shaved off the hair and nose, resculpting them to closer resemble Hyde. I then began the extensive work of sculpting his suit. It's all Green Stuff, from the cuffs of his pants all the way to the collar of his shirt. ![[Silver Age Unicorn] After making Blacklash I'd planned on crafting more Iron Man villains but it took a while to find the right one. I'd wanted to do Living Laser but I'd seen some pretty kick@ss customs of him around so I dug deeper. I've always liked The Unicorn so I figured I'd take a shot at him. If he looks a little different than you remember it's because this look is modeled on INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #4 {first series}. The colors are inverted here, plus he's got a funky jet-belt. What kid wouldn't want one of those?
I used a DCUC Captain Atom for the base. The belt started life as part of Orion's Astro-harness; the buttons are from an old Toybiz "talking" Venom. "I WANT TO EAT YOUR BRAIN!" Everything else is Green Stuff, Citadel paint and blood. {This is the guy I killed my thumb on!}](userimages/customs/14500/14354-1.jpg) Silver Age Unicorn | ![[Hand Ninja] I hated the undersized Silver Sewage figure and he's been waiting out his days in my fodder bin. I never quite knew what to do with him, as he was so small. Also, I didn't want to go to the trouble of shaving down his funky wrist and kneepads. Having learned from my experience making The Fly, I took the Zen approach and incorporated the pads into my plan. SS was too shrimpy to be an Asgardian and I didn't think to make him an Atlantean so a Ninja he became! I realize the pads are not exactly cannon, but these guys have been drawn with so many subtle variations in the past I figured the pads were feasible. {And it looks more like a ninja than Ronin painted red ever could!}
I used GreenStuff to make the hood and de-emphisise the crazy muscletone of his chest. The bow and quiver are from Artemis, the sword from a MacFarlane figure and the 'chucks are from the aforementioned Ronin. I left the outside of his eyes silver, to give him that "spooky" look.

Marv here was created using a LCBH Madman base body. As you can see, it is PERFECT for Cap or generic Kree soldiers. It's white and is already sculpted to look like clothing. All you need is a good head; in this case I chose DCUC Red Tornado. I'd worked it up earlier in the month for U.S. Agent custom. When that fell through it just sort of hung around, until now. {This is why the mask has "cut-out" eyes, as opposed to the full coverage of C.M original helmet.}
I added a little Green Stuff to his jaw to make him look more "heroic"; a bit of plastic from ML Archangel's wings made up the head-fin. Green Stuff was used for the other sculpted details, and a laser pistol from the very bottom of the fodder bin completes him. I left his eyes the light green color that MM's were: Mar-vell was usually depicted with empty white peepers but, s](userimages/customs/14000/13880-1.jpg) Silver Age CAPTAIN MARVEL |
![[The Badger] OK, Larry, let's get down to brass tacks. Crack open a can of POINT and get ready for action! This here is the Badger, Wisconson's #1 super hero. In the words of his creator Mike Baron, Badger is "a self-styled crime fighter who rides the highways and by-ways of America... {he} metes out bloody justice to jaywalkers, ticket scalpers, indifferent teenaged fast-food clerks - in fact, any-darn-body he feels like because he's CRAZY!"
A Viet Nam vet and P.O.W., Norbert Sykes endured both the horrors of war and childhood abuse, as a result developing a multiple personality disorder. One of these personalities emerged as The Badger. Master of Shorin-ryu and other obscure martial arts forms, Badger can do remarkable things {like talk to animals} because no one can convince him otherwise. He lives in a castle with his friend, the 5th century Welsh wizard Ham. Oh, yeah, did I mention they're both escaped mental patients?

This is Simon as he fist appeared/reappeared {AVENGERS #9, AVENGERS #151} I've always dug his original costume and it was calling out for a custom. I've been wanting to make a "classic" Ultron for a while now. My first attempt used an Iron Man body and just didn't look right. This guy is much closer to Ultron as I remember him. Still not perfect but I have one head left and expect to revisit this character in the future.
