I want a complete collection of 1:12 star wars figures and this is just a step in that direction.
Even though it's Yoda, I really wanted a very articulated version, an I'm really happy with the result!
I cut down a movie Frodo, to get the right proportions. I sculpted the hands, and toes (that were attached to frodo's feet). I also sculpted a hump on yoda's back. The head is from a sculpture I did years back when I was trying out super sculpy. It was all one piece and I didn't want to cut the head off, so I cast it. I didn't have mold making kit so i made a 2 part mold with my apoxie sculpt, and cast in apoxie as well. I was happy with how well it turned out, and I got to keep my figure.
I repainted all of the clothes brown, after that I got to the lots of tones to get Yoda's skin where I wanted it.
The cloak was inspired by the work of glorbes and spawnsauce. If you don't know their work, it's great stuff, and what they do in cloth is inspiring! The c](userimages/customs/49500/49376-1.jpg) Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi Yoda Star Warsby pulpyfictionWho doesn't love YODA?!!

I've been super busy with work and a move. I've been doing a commission and I have an excess of green paint I mixed, and this custom seemed like a logical thing to do with that excess.
I've seen a lot of really good Nic Turtles repaints. Makes those figures so much better! I'm not a huge fan of the figures though. They are a bit small, and although I love the sculpt of them, I don't like the articulation.
The Nic turtles I have, I pulled apart to use. I love their accessories, and it's because of that, they made me want to do Movie versions of them. I'm always quick to check out fugazi's custom turtles, because he always makes exactly what he wants, and they look exactly the way he wants them too. Then I saw grungethemovie's 12 inch rotocast Hulk custom he had made into a Ruffalo Hulk, and the detail in the face made me want to rework mine. Between the colour palette he used overall on the face, and even more so around the eyes. I think it helped with the expression and the likeness. I also really like how he had done the mouth, as he had to re-sculpt it. The original had a closed mouth and his now had an open mouthed clenched teeth. I liked the treatment of the shading of the teeth, detail in the gums, and fleshy pink gradation to green in the lips. I wanted to do something like that with mine.
I wasn't quite happy with how the mouth looked on my first version. It was like he was sighing or was about to say something and just couldn't think of it. Then in a used toy shop in Hamilton, I found a broken toy of Frankenstein's monster, and that completely sealed the deal.
The head was severed from the original figure, and filled with apoxy to fit perfectly to the Grundy body. I found I had to give the Grundy base figure a quick, complete sanding so it would take paint, including the rubber jacket (DCU capes and coats are the worst for taking paints!).

After Seeing Anthony's Customs version of his Ultimate Movie Hulk, I was inspired to do my own. Seeing his paint work on the ML movie Hulk head gave me an example of how good the sculpt actually was once it got some decent paints on it! I loved how the planet Hulk's chest seemed to have the same muscle tone as the film, and the colours he had done were spot on.
I also had some issue with size and frame though. In the movie he had long legs, so I used the ML face off Hulk's for the length. I wanted smaller hands to fit the movie art, and I had the twist and slam movie hulk's and they were perfect and begging to be used!

I also cut the neck to add extra articulation up and down, and I swapped the feet with a Jakks deluxe wrestler that had an exact match for boots.
Then I added an extra head. Touched up the silvers on the helmet, matched the flesh tones for everything by repainting the skin, and I also repainted the torso armour to get some more umph out of it.

Then it was all paints. Lots of layers on the skin to get some tones, and same for the jeans, a dark base tone, dry brushed up with lighter denim blues, then a light and quick dry brushing of white over, and a healthy dose along the tears to get that frayed look.

I wanted a big, hard@$$ Conan. The LCBH line just didn't cut it for me.
I found this wrestling figure loose on sale, and saw the Conan inside wanting to come out!
I started by altering the head. The nose was a little more bulbous than I wanted so I sanded it down. Then I shaved off the hair and sculpted it anew.
I swapped the right hand for DCUC Bizarro's. On the right arm, I made a leather band with straps, and for the left arm I stole a leather bracer taken from a McFarlane Conan that I Dremeled out to fit over his wrist.
The boots of the wrestler were cut off. Then I took the bottom of AoA Sabretooth's boots from the swivel peg down, and sculpted the rest of the boots onto Conan to match Sabretooth's fitting a peg hole for the bottom of boots. Then I painted the boots several coats, a base brown to start, a dark brown wash to get caught in the grooves, then a lighter](userimages/customs/23500/23007-1.jpg) Comic Book Conan Conanby pulpyfictionThis is another one that's been sitting on the shelf, out of laziness, and should have been posted eons ago!

![[Lou Ferrigno Television's Incredible Hulk Version ] Same recipe as version 1, but I really wasn't happy with the sculpted hair. It just didn't make me think of the mop that Ferrigno wore...I wished I had a wig for him, then I thought, WHY DON'T I MAKE ONE?!!!
I took some fun fur and sized it up, sewed it to fit, gave it a dye job and a trim, and then attached it to the head.
Now I have a mop on my Ferrigno Hulk's head just like in the show!
I also gave it a new series of dry brushed layers, to wash out the colour like Ferrigno's paint. I think it was too bright and vibrant a green before in comparison to the show. I also noticed something in several photos. On Ferrigno's feet, when he wasn't wearing green coloured sock booties (yeah weird eh?), the paint had wiped off. So I give it some skin tones on the bottom to simulate where the costume paint had worn off, and gave him a bit of dirtiness on the balls of his feet. I mean the guy is walking around set with his bare feet. They get dirty.
So these are the changes, I hope you li](userimages/customs/23000/22971-1.jpg) Lou Ferrigno Television's Incredible Hulk Version Incredible Hulkby pulpyfictionSame recipe as version 1, but I really wasn't happy with the sculpted hair. I think he captures that last moment of the transformation from Banner to Hulk, once the Hulk finally has control of the helm and bursts out! I was happy with the result, and he's been sitting on my shelves for over half a year... I didn't post him because I didn't think it was something all that special. I mean I don't really post simple head swaps or simple fixes, but then I saw him on the shelf the other day and he caught my eye. I knew I had another Hulk I was going to post, and I liked how he looks, so why haven't I posted him? I thought let's make it a pair of Hulks to post! So here he is with no further delay.
