![[Scarlet Witch] Greetings fellow customizers and talented artists. As you all probably noticed last year, Toys R Us had tons of its exclusive Diamond Emma Frost figures on clearance. I picked up a few knowing in the back of my head that the bodies would make good fodder for customizing figures in the future. And so the future arrived.
And now to the customizing: I removed original Diamond Emma Frost head and sanded down the X-men logos on the cape and belt, as well as the glove seams on the arms and the area where the gloves end and the arm begins. I severed the forearms about two-thirds of the way up to remove the hands and painted the arms, part of the torso and upper legs with pink acrylic paint. The rest of the figure, which includes the ribbon around the neck, the chest, the hip area and legs, were painted with several coats of scarlet red. I painted the neck area above the ribbon a fleshtone color, in that this is where obviously the body would connect with the head. I then painted the outside](userimages/customs/15500/15471-1.jpg) Scarlet Witch Avengersby AwakeManGreetings fellow customizers and talented artists. I took a Joker Thug figure and studied the scene from TDK DVD and from stills I found online to match the look of the figure as close as possible. I took the original's head and removed the hair and re-sculpted new one with sculpey and painted to match with acrylics. I drybrushed the jacket with different shades of grey, black and grey acrylics in order to achieve that charcoal gray look of the thug in the film. I painted the hands completely black to give the illusion of full gloves. Finally I drybrushed the feet with brown to give the shoes are worn out and dirty appearance. I am quite happy with the outcome of this figure. ![[Chuckles] Once again, another Joker Thug figure. I studied the scene from TDK DVD and from stills I found online to match the look of the figure as close as possible. I took the original's head and removed the hair and re-sculpted new one with sculpey and painted to match with acrylics. I removed the tie, just like all my other Joker thugs customs, and removed the jacket to paint with acrylics the pattern on the shirt. I only painted the front, back collar and sides, given the fact that one never sees below the back part of the collar since it’s covered with the jacket. I painted the shoes brown and drybrushed with black to achieve the worn out, dirty look. I am very content with the outcome of the final product. The character, unlike the other thugs, does not have a nickname and is simply known as "The Bus Driver". I was able to find out the nicknames of all the thugs from the Internet Movie Data Base FAQ page of The Dark Knight. I studied the scene from TDK DVD and from stills I found online to match the look of the figure as close as possible. I took the original's head and removed the hair and re-sculpted new one with sculpey and painted to match with acrylics. Used acrylics to paint the new design on the mask and drybrushed the legs with acrylics to achieve the light blue denim jeans-look on them. Painted the jacket purple and the hands completely black and then drybrushed the feet brown and black to give it that worn and dirty look. Overall, I am very pleased with the results. I studied the scene from TDK DVD and from stills I found online to match the look of the figure as close as possible. I took a MM Joker's head, modified the left side to have hair and an exposed ear using sculpey. Dried brush the hair with acrylic shades of brown, yellow and green. Painted the face with fleshtone acrylics and wetbrushed under the eyes and scar tissue. Sculpted hat completely out of sculpey and painted it to match the look of the character in the movie. I then took a Joker Thug figure, sculpted the extra pockets, the buttons, and the tiny US flag pin on the collar. Used acrylics again to paint the figure to match the character in the movie. I then put the Joker's head on the finished Thugs finished body.I then took a McFarlane Terminator 3 figure's rifle to complete the Dishonor Guard. Overall, I am quite happy with the results. ![[The Joker- The Interrogation Scene] Greetings to all fellow customizers. This was my first attemp (and first submission to the realm) at customizing an action figure. This was a basic Joker figure. I studied the scene from TDK DVD and stills I from the scene I found on line to get the pattern on the shirt and overall look of The Joker as close as possible. I removed the jacket and painted the pattern on the sleeves using acrylics. I added some sculpey around the torso so that it would not look cylindrical and painted that as well. Unfortunately, the digital pictures show where I tried to blend the sculpey with the actual body, but it could pass as dirty stains on the vest, so I left it as such. I dried brush the face with acrylics, matching Heath Ledger's look in the scene as close as possible. Finally, I dried brushed gloved hands to pass off as bare ones with make-up and dirt smeared on them, just as it was in the movie. Overall, I think I did a fairly decent job and I am proud with the results.
