![[6" Batman the Animated Series Custom Action F] First of all: sorry for the poor quality pictures. I had to take them with my phone and this was the best I could do with it!
Every fan boy knows how awesome Batman the Animated Series is but what we don't understand is why we haven't got a decent fully articulated action figure of him in 6 inch scale. Other Realmer's decided to fix this problem and have done some fantastic versions of him (which you really need to check out when your finished here!) Thus my ambitions to create my own were fueled!
The base body?
A DCUC silver Flash. I'm afraid non of his features survived my brutal dremelling, sanding and sculpting but if we are going to do this, we need to do it properly, right? As I love to pose these lil' critters, all articulation was retained. The lower arms however were removed and replaced with ball joints at the elbow so as not to interrupt the smooth animated look of his shoulders and arms. His hands were also given ball joints, painstakingly inserted into Flash's origina](userimages/customs/49500/49319-1.jpg) 6" Batman the Animated Series Custom Action F Batman Animatedby KnightimeFirst of all: sorry for the poor quality pictures. Basically I took a hasbro comic series Wolverine, popped off his head, sliced the claws away and dremmeled off the boot details. Sculpted the belt, gauntlet fins and boot tops with milliput. The head was an original sculpt and is probably the smallest I've ever done. Pulled the cape off an old BTS decoy Batman and folded and stitched the top so it flowed off his shoulders. The rest is just paint!](userimages/customs/23000/22832-1.jpg) Mini Frank Miller DK Batman Batmanby KnightimeI fancied making a DK Returns Bats in the 4 inch scale. ![[Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider] This is something I've wanted to do for awhile. This is one of those Hasbro Iron Spidys with with a few add-ons. I dremelled off the back pack with the spider legs and sanded down all the gold details so I finished up with a clean slate.
I then sculpted the shirt and hoody along with the eyes with milliput, giving him a bit of a scowl as I went. The little pouches and straps were also sculpted.
I then gave him some stingers from the ML Black Widow and also nicked her belt for him too as I felt it suited him. Also made him a little web shot from one of the left over spider legs. Painted the whole thing but only shaded the red areas. This was the main reason I wanted to use this figure as there won't be any paint rub because the base colour is red anyway!

A cross between Year One Bats and Alex Ross' style. I felt the ML Bullseye body had the right kind of feel.
I kept Bullseye's face and just sculpted ears and the lower part of the mask, beefing his neck out as I went. I gave his cowle a 'lip' so I didn't have to tie his cape around his neck but rather had it so it flowed from his coller bone area like the early Mattel versions. I scuplted the tips of his boots just below his knees and covered in the joint areas as well as giving him the 'gauntlet claws' on his gloves + a belt buckle. A Gave him a hand scuplted batarrang a a paper bat symbol. The cape has wire in it for posability and has elastic at the neck so it sat snugly under the lip of the cowle but remained removable. I thought he looked OK by the end, but I still think a better batman could have been made.
I sold this one along with a Gotham Knight DVD. ![[Batman the Animated Series Custom Cape] This is mainly to showcase the cape for this figure. It always annoyed me when I was a kid that A: the capes on the old Kenner figures were never large enough and B: on the animated ones they never did the lining of the cape blue (which it was, back in the day when I was watching it.)
So here is the cape, complete with wire for posability. This 're-conditioned' Batman (I had to resculpt his chewed off ear and repaint him), also sports a cartoon accurate Batarrang which I sculpted from Milliput. No over-sized bat-gadgets for him! Note too the black outline on his mouth and belt, hinting at the cartoon look. I also gave him a stand which I painted to resemble the Batcave floor. I'm still trying to achieve the blue sheen that appears on the black areas of his suit without just painting blue streaks across it, but I'm saving those ideas for my multi-jointed TAS Batman.

The greatest non-superhero of all time. This particular Bats was created from one of the older Mattle lines I got off a website which featured excellent articulation. Unfortunately, he had a very strange shrunken head which forced me into making a custom job of him. I started with re-sculpting his face and ears with Milliput (which along with his lefthand gauntlet had been chewed off by his previous owner!)Then I gave his body a dark grey wash, but retaining the light blue colour of this versions suit. Then, rather than keeping the dark blue, I opted for the cooler black for the cowle, boots and gloves. I left his belt as it was and just painted it gold with a black wash to pick out the detail (I like my washes, oh yes!).
With the cape I did something a tad different. I made it larger than I would normally go for (allowing it to spill out onto the floor when standing) and sewed some black elastic around the neck area of the cape, allowing it to fit snugly around his cowle](userimages/customs/17500/17051-1.jpg) Batman the Dark Knight Detective Batmanby KnightimeAh, Batman.
