![[X-Men the Last Stand Wolverine] I was never happy with any of the movie Wolverines in X-Uniform. The superposable figure had a giraffe neck and was missing his belt buckle. The second series Claw Strike Wolverine fixed both issues, but added an action feature that took away most of the figures' poseability. So I finally took it upon myself to make the perfect movie Wolverine.
First I sculpted the belt buckle with Fixit Sculpt. I ended up using the head from the Walmart exclusive Wolverine/Beast two-pack. It looks like a horrible head at first sight, but it's actually a great sculpt hidden behind a lousy paintjob. The only thing I didn't like about the sculpt was the fact that his hair was done more in the X-Men Origins style, which doesn't look right with his X-Men uniform, so I resculpted most of his hair to more closely resemble the way it looked in X3. I also added a bit to his beard. The heads were on different sized balljoints, so I split the original figure's torso open to remove the neck, then cut th](userimages/customs/22000/21618-1.jpg) X-Men the Last Stand Wolverine X-Men - Moviesby tommyI was never happy with any of the movie Wolverines in X-Uniform. I also prefer the darker glossy plastic of the second series figures. I switched over Iceman's head and arms to the Cyclops body, then simply painted the trim on his uniform. Iceman's neck was originally a bit on the long side, so I cut it down to a more natural looking length, then attached it to the body with some fixit sculpt. Since the head is on a ball joint the figure retains full articulation. The spare trenchcoat went to my custom Blade.](userimages/customs/21500/21342-1.jpg) X3 Bobby Drake Iceman X-Men - Moviesby tommyRather than using a standard X2 Cyclops body and being left with an entire X2 Iceman body that I had little to no use for, I decided to use the Trench...5 comments |
![[Trenchcoat Blade] I hate cloth coats on figures, and I happened to have a spare trenchcoat from another figure I did, so this seemed like a no brainer. I just cracked open Blade's upper torso and added the arms from X2's Trenchcoat Cyclops. I painted the inside of the coat red with a Gundam marker. Wouldn't have been my preferred method, but it was what I had handy.](userimages/customs/21000/20916-1.jpg) Trenchcoat Blade Bladeby tommyI hate cloth coats on figures, and I happened to have a spare trenchcoat from another figure I did, so this seemed like a no brainer.
