The body is from a Graduation Day Faith, the upper torso was painted red with acrylic testors paints and the skin tones are all Citadel 944's (I believe...I may have mixed something with them I don't remember, my bad). The head doesn't move but with the massive amount of hard plastic hair she has - it wasn't going to anyway. I tried to keep it looking like Anita Blake the Necromancer as best as I could.
Headpool was made from a head-cast (crummy one at that) of the 2 pack Deadpool and parts from Executioner Spawn's severed-head accessory. I just threw him in here, I really put him with my Deadpool action figure custom, but since he is already up here, I decided to put him with Anita Blake here and do a sorta two-for-one.
Plus she is a necromancer, so it kinda works.](userimages/customs/38500/38430-1.jpg) Anita Blake |
![[Rogue] Not sure if its still cool to make these older style mods or not, but here goes...Took off the Toybiz original Rogue's head and put on a magnet fighters Avenger Wasp head. Re-sculpted the bangs the jacket collar and the upper arms on the jacket sleeves. Her arms were swapped out from a DC Direct Super-girl. Whole figure was repainted and sealed. Gave her sleeveless arms, made no sense to me how she goes through all the trouble to cover up all her skin when that's her one true power. I figure if she needed to she could unroll the sleeves on her jacket or remove her gloves but in battle I see her with the sleeves up and the gloves off. Might even give purpose to the flight jacket so she can put them away in the pockets. I almost went with the Power Slammer Rogue's head for this but her face has huge cheek bone structure and I didn't want to go crazy with sanding her head down. Wasp's head was available and I had already taken her wings for another figure and the body she had (armored) lo](userimages/customs/38500/38423-1.jpg) Rogue X-Menby ControlspireNot sure if its still cool to make these older style mods or not, but here goes...Took off the Toybiz original Rogue's head and put on a magnet fighte...6 comments | ![[Witchblade] I took a Moore's Action Collectibles Witchblade body (Top Cow figure from the 1990s), cut it apart and hollowed it out with a dremel tool fitting the upper torso and the lower torso together with a revolution tech ball joint so her upper torso can move not only in a swivel but also back and forth. The lower pelvis area was taken from a Legendary Heroes Witch blade, as well as the arms and legs. The hair came from a Graduation Day Faith action figure from the BtVS Toy line. The sword is a modified Medieval Witchblade, the handle from a McFarlane Valkyrie war-axe. Her satellite phone came from a 1990's W.I.L.D. Cats Grifter action figure. Her gun came from a NECO Tombraider Lara Croft Action figure, the badge was made from an old checkbook cover and some circuit board parts. Her armor was sculpted with green stuff, or glued on from armor parts I cut apart from the Red Dress Witchblade figure also from the Moore's Action Collectibles Top Cow 1990's line (her head is from that figure too).](userimages/customs/38500/38155-1.jpg) Witchblade Witchbladeby ControlspireI took a Moore's Action Collectibles Witchblade body (Top Cow figure from the 1990s), cut it apart and hollowed it out with a dremel tool fitting the ...6 comments |
![[Wolverine] Here is a repaint of an earlier custom I did, more to show how my painting skills have some what progressed. I modified the belt by sanding the original off and sculpting a new one with greenstuff. the buckle itself is part of an old blockbuster video card cut down, glued and painted. The claws are the original claws just cut down and dremeled smooth/rounded at the ends so they would be the right length opposed to the massive claws the stock figure came with. That's about it, not much work went into it but it looks nice so I thought I'd share. Also I removed the shoulder pads, didn't like them.](userimages/customs/38500/38018-1.jpg) Wolverine Marvel Legendsby ControlspireHere is a repaint of an earlier custom I did, more to show how my painting skills have some what progressed. First off, his trigger finger on his left hand was not open to hold guns propperly, an exacto knife, some patience with a low setting on my heat gun, and no biggy, I even filed down the underside of the finger to make it rounded. When cut it was just flat surface under his trigger finger, couldn't have that. Next I liked the teleportation harness that held the swords - didn't like how it was attached and that the figure had trouble moving a bit in it. So I popped DP apart at the upper torso cut the belt off the harness, glued the upper parts of harness to the figure, and used green stuff to sculpt the lower part of the teleportation harness to the swiveling lower torso. I made sure to shave the plastic of the upper torso before fitting him back together to allow room for the greenstuff, and eliminating any rubbing. ![[Witch Blade] I used the Legendary Heroes (Pitt Build a Figure Line) Witchblade, as my base. It was a good figure already but needed some work, namely in the face. She just didn't look like Sara Pezzini, so I used the Top Cow 6" series Sara Pezzini head from the red dress Witchblade. I just did a repaint to get the skin tones right, the Top Cow series Witchblade had very dark skin tones and in the comics it seems she is fair toned. The hair is half sculpted and half the rubbery hair that came with the base figure, I sculpted to blend the Top Cow head's molded hair line in with the rubbery hair. When I repainted the face I tried to keep the original style. With the shoulder spikes and long hair, she would have had little to no articulation in the neck even with a ball pointed head, so I decided for simplicities' sake and to make the neck look nicer I'd just sculpt the neck, sand and glue the head on. I also sculpted some tiny armor bits on the sides, because her shape just seemed off to me, the](userimages/customs/38000/37992-1.jpg) Witch Blade Marvel Legendsby ControlspireI used the Legendary Heroes (Pitt Build a Figure Line) Witchblade, as my base. I took the head from the mcfarlane version (the one doing the upside down hand-stand and firing - filed down his forehead a bit to get rid of the bulging veins, cut off the neck, and drilled out the head to make it work as a ball-joint head. I repainted the skin tones all over the figure and sprayed a flat non-gloss clear coat enamel finish over the entire thing (except the jacket part cause enamel is tacky when it tries on rubbery materials). That was it I had a easy to make Neo in my humble opinion that is easily just as cool as other really expensive ones I've seen. To me that's why I customize to make figures I can't find or afford. ![[Super Girl] The head is from DC Armory Flamebird, the body is from Marvel Legends Electra from the Wal-mart 2 pack, the cape/skirt/and legs came from DC Direct Supergirl (White Shirt).
I wanted an older and more shapely Supergirl like the one we have in the comics now, I had the time and the parts, so I made it happen. I lost some articulation in the midsection by sculpting her shirt the way it appears in the comics, but as she is mainly for show anyway I didn't mind so much. ![[X-23 Navy Outfit] This is an X-23 (black suit variant) crossed with a Maria Hill figure from the two pack with Iron Man. I drilled out the neck entirely and just planted the neck from the X-23 inside of it with superglue - keeping the functionality of the ball-joint and the skin-tone of the neck piece. I also removed the hands and feet in the same manner so all the joints still turned/functioned. Then I sanded off and polished the spots where the SHIELD emblems had been on the arms. I swapped the claws out for the "Hydro Blaster 5'inch Wolverine's" painted them a gunmetal color, sanded off the top half of his split belt that they sculpted half onto his upper torso and half onto his lower torso at the pivot...which looked really odd. So I added a black rubber belt made from place-mat material (drawer liner) and a belt buckle made from a plastic card. The repaint was an effort to make him look more like 'Wolverine and the X-Men' version/colors. Plus I liked the darker blue/black and yellow look more. ![[Deadpool] I created my Deadpool entirely out of a Marvel Legends Hand ninja. I filed down the chest with a dremel tool and resculpted the chest and back. I then did a lot of dremeling on the head and removed the hood around the face. The belt is just a bunch of Maria Hill belt pouches glued to his waist and around his leg. There is no actual belt it just looks that way. I was satisfied how this came out being my first custom figure. I cut the hands to be open and so the finger would go on the trigger I used Testor Paints and sealed it with a non-shine semi-gloss spray paint. His joints were red already so I didn't have to worry about popping him apart to glue paint over the joint hinges to keep the color from wearing. The sword sheath on his back came from a TMNT Leonardo - I sculpted onto the end of it so that the blades wouldn't hang out at the ends. My Deadpool has a side arm and a hold-out pistol holster on his ankle. His belt buckle is metal, made it out of a rivet.
