![[Spider-Man] A guy from another board had me do a Peter Parker head for this body and I kept a few of the casts for myself. Got a pretty era-generic Spidey that was still reminiscent of how John Romita Sr. drew him and I was glad he looked recognizably like Peter Parker.
I guess I wasn't entirely happy with the Fearsome Foes head either so I altered a head from the Ben Reilly Spider-Man to fit. Kept all the original paint and whatnot (since I wanted it to be displayable as the Fearsome Foes Spidey too) and made the heads all swappable. Felt that it just had a lot more personality, plus I liked the size better than the original.
Though I do like the original, it's pretty shiny and the costume they picked was just way out of date. I think she only wore that swimsuit look for a few months before she ended up in this look, which is what she's wearing currently in her own solo series.
Thought it was going to be a straight repaint, but I found out that the joint rub on the legs was just terrible. ![[Ms. Marvel V2] I made a Ms. Marvel sometime in 2009, and though I loved it, it was definitely one that I wanted to revisit with better materials and time. Plus I paint a lot better now than I did back then.
Anyways, I've just been tinkering with this thing forever. Kept the Livewire base for the torso. Originally I'd used Shanna hips/legs, but for this version I wanted to use WWE Diva hips that would allow for some more natural range of motion. This time I kept Livewire's legs and fused them back in. Also I added some rocker ankles and cut in some better range of motion for the torso and neck joints. The arms are from a WWE Diva body as well, and the hands were from the Hasbro Human Torch. The head was a modified XMC Rogue headcast, and the hair's from X3 Jean Grey. I sculpted the belt, but the sash ends are from a SOTA SF Gen.
Came together way more smoothly this time around, though still a lot of work. Overall I do really like the proportions and the articulation scheme a lot. Dunno if I'd do much different now, but I did think he looked awesome.
He changed into a generic costume in X-men 3. ![[Iron Man (Classic)] I picked up a set of the Iron Man 3 Legends figures, and I really like em all. This guy kinda let me down because I was hoping for metallic reds to go with the gold, but instead the red was just a molded plastic with a lot of metallic swirls in it. On top of that, the reds on the gloves/boots were way different tones than the red on the torso. Seems to be the case in general, so I repainted the reds on this guy to match the garishly yellow 2-pack releases. I pictured all 3 together, but I like the new finish a lot better. The gold is great on the new one, and when I tried to paint a 2-pack one gold the paint was just shredding at every joint so the new one's a godsend even if I didn't like the red. ![[Captain America (Marvel NOW)] Been wanting to do one of these for awhile, but the sculpting was pretty daunting as the new Cap design just has a ton of new details. Plus every artist appears to be drawing it a little differently. I do like the new movie-like tactical look his costume has now, and glad it had some story purpose since in Avengers his original suit wasn't protecting him much.
I constructed the torso from a Drax awhile ago and added the limbs/head of the new Ultimate Captain America(on the same body I started with) to reduce paint rub.
I didn't like the way the enormous new heads looked on this body so I widened the upper torso quite a bit to make the figure work better proportion-wise too. Love the Bucky Cap body for Deadpool, and it works really well given that the head from the new Hasbro Deadpool figures looks really good on it too. Gives him a little more bulk. I added some height to this guy by changing out his boots as well. He looks like a real B.A.M.F. next to the TRU Deadpool.
