![[John Crichton - Farscape] I love Farscape! I believe it to be the best space opera since Empire Strikes Back! It had a small line of action figures from Season 1, Seasons 1 of course had the most bland costumes, and they were all as articulated as a rock. In my opinion the best costumes are in Season 3 of the series.
Head - Cameron Mitchell: Stargate SG-1
Body - Movie Punisher: Marvel Legends
Legs - Ultimate Captain America: Marvel Legends
Winona(Pulse Pistol) - Aeryn Sun: Farscape
Sculpting - Aves Apoxy Putty
Paint - Tamiya: Coulours: Flat red mixed with Flat Black; Flat Flesh; Flat Black; Platinum Silver
I started with Cameron's head, first I cut it off at the neck as it's ball jointed but Punisher is not. Then I resculpted Cameron's shocked look to John's more regular intense look, amazing what emotion you can get out of something as simple as eyebrows.
I pulled apart Punisher's chest so I could repaint his arms, in all honesty this was a useless step but I did it anyway ;) Trimmed the sleeves of his T-Shi](userimages/customs/31500/31004-1.jpg) John Crichton - Farscape Marvel Legendsby The BalzanI love Farscape! His neck was over extended I believe in an attempt to make him in scale with the DC Direct figures (I wish they'd stuck with the DCUC scale much nicer selection).
His face although a better sculpt needed a better paint job.
His horns were to thick, I assume this is due to Mattels new safety procedures?
He had a plastic cape, that did not cover the tops of his shoulders.
I removed his head repainted the eyes and chin area, removed the neck piece trimmed the height of the neck peg.
I made a cape out of the same material as my Under the Red Hood Batman but I decided to scallop his cape this time, there are 7 points/6 scallops. There's a piece of thread running from in front of his shoulder joing from the front of his cape through to back so as to keep it hanging over h](userimages/customs/31500/31001-1.jpg) Batman - Batman: Arkham City DC Universeby The BalzanI bought the amazing double pack for the Batman Legacy set, I was amazed by the brillaint sculpt of both Batman and Harvey Dent, it beats the hell out...13 comments |
![[Red Hood - Jason Todd Inspired by Batman: under th] Here we have a very common custom on this website though I wanted to give it a shot for myself. I used alot of the ideas of Suprasizeme's version as I got alot of inspiration from it, though I went different routes to try and make him my own. The Base figure is of course a mix of Mr. Terrific and the Marvel Legends Movie Punisher. The helmet head is Mr Terrific + Aves Apoxie sculpt.
His hands, boots and normal head were donated by the Marvel Legends Madman. With his head his hair mask and ears are all sculpted, and I opted for the comic accurate red over the movies black, it just looks so much cooler. His hands just has a touch of Aves Apoxie to give him his squares. His boots are half of Punisher's leg half Madman's boot, as the joint was not compatable, then alot of Aves' to give them that bulky biker boot look. His belt is Apoxie, as is the centre of his shirt.
His guns come from 2 seperate Marvel Punisher's (thank god for Blade). Don't get me wrong Wesley Snipes was Blade but after the first few episodes Kirk Jones really made the part his own. Not to mention his best looking armour that's not just for show. I've been hoping for an action figure version of him for ages, but I stopped thinking it would come, then I saw a marvellous custom by Blayne Scott and I decided then and there I wanted to do the same. Two months later here he is.
The Figure:
I started with a Punisher Marvel Legends figure (which I am using for a couple up coming customs as well), using a Blade 2 Marvel Legends figure for the arms and head, also the sword and glaive.
Using a HUGE amount of Aves Apoxie Sculpt (most of it not used) I crafted the chest using bamboo skewers as the stakes across the whole body. Made the pistol holsters out of 2 really small pieces of cloth super glued them to the top then covered wit the tops of the bandoleers. ![[Batman - Batman under the Red Hood] I loved the DC Classics Black and Grey Batman that was released a few yeears ago, apart from one niggling thing... I HATED the face, it looked like the worst attempt at scuplting I'd ever seen. After the 5th viewing of Batman Under the Red Hood I realised that that was the best cowl batman had ever had. So I've attempted to catch the same appearance while working in 3d (quite difficult especially considering his cheeks are impossible).
The head belongs to the DC Universe Batman heavily sculpted, resculpted the base and added a fabric cape from some really nice material (I think made for swimming material), which has some nice weighting to it so it falls nicely instead of bunching up like a lot of other materials.
Pardon my shoddy Photoshop cutting for the head shot.
There's another custom coming along in one of the pictures ;)
