![[Robin John Blake] -This one was pretty straight forward for me. I was not happy with a lot of the Robin John Blake customs I saw, because they kept portraying him as Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin, etc - and Nolan, at the end of the movie, makes it very clear - Blake becomes The Batman. It says "The Dark Knight Rises" at the end, as the new Dark Knight is rising. It's about the legend of the Dark Knight - a theme seen throughout the entirety of the trilogy (though I will confess - MANY of the customs I've seen have been stellar - though they've not been Blake as Batman).
-I did, however, homage the Nightwing-blue. I picked the spots that are blue specifically, because they were heavily armored. They're the places someone like Blake (lacking a lifetime of training) would want to draw attention. Things like police, tactical-training that he's had, would all come in handy, but ultimately he'd need advantages like highlighted pieces of armor to catch a criminals eyes (as their eyes would naturally b](userimages/customs/43000/42862-1.jpg) Robin John Blake DC Directby The 4th Man-This one was pretty straight forward for me. And while I certainly, from a comic standpoint, mourn the loss of Ultimate Peter Parker...I am really excited for Miles Morales, and Marvel / Bendis taking such a bold step. In that vein, I wanted to do a Ultimate Fallout #4: Spider-Man figure - as I have a real fondness for this suit!
-The base is a Spectacular Spider-Man (the one with the interchangeable, Peter Parker head). My puppy chewed off it's right hand - so I'd been looking for something to do w/ it for awhile already...and when I saw Ultimate Fallout #4, it was a fast no brainer.
-Since' the Spectacular Spider-Man's right hand was already missing, I went ahead and cut the left hand off, and replaced both hands with Nate Grey / X-Man hands, giving him a fist, and a more cautious / blocking hand. I had a broken X-Man figure as well, so it didn't bother me lopping off his hands for this custom.](userimages/customs/34000/33521-1.jpg) Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles Morales - Ultimate Fall Spider-Manby The 4th Man-Ultimate Spider-Man, in every capacity, is my Spider-Man - and has been now since' the 616 universe went to hades in a hand-basket. ![[Miracle Man / Marvel Man (Future Costume)] -There is a brief story to this. As I was completing the Kid Miracle Man I submitted on here, a few months ago - I was also completing my personal run of the the issues to this series. In doing that - I came across issue 13, which became stimulus for me to do this figure. The attitude and demeanor on the cover to issue 13, became the vision I brought, as well as the incentive for the base figure.
-The base figure is a Marvel Legends Sentry. His facial expression is perfect. It's confident, relaxed, powerful, thoughtful, and victorious - much like the attitude presented on the cover. Also, his body type is a closer fit to what I was after, as I used a McGuiness base for my previous Marvel Man custom.
-Everything was free-hand painted. I blocked off a few areas, of the main part of the symbol, with pencil - but everything was steady-handed in.
-The wrist gauntlet's, ankle gauntlet's, and the belt are all pseudo-cardboard - specifically paint samples that I cut down to the proper size,](userimages/customs/33500/33432-1.jpg) Miracle Man / Marvel Man (Future Costume) Marvelby The 4th Man-There is a brief story to this. In my plans to eventually make the Miracle Man family, and having the perfect base figure in this Damian Wayne - I went for it. I was inspired to go this route, now, because I've just finished completing my collection of the entire run of these characters and had found out Gaiman's plan was to initiate the return of Johnny Bates. Thus - he is reborn here, as we've yet to get the completion of Gaiman's actual run.
-Since' I'd previously done a Marvel Man / Miracle Man - I knew exactly what I was in for this time - and the process went really fast. This one only took around 72 hours or so.
-I used a sharp pocket knife to cut and round off the spikes on the end of both gloves/hands, and then repainted the entire figure with two coats of white - right off the bat. I then painted it yellow, but it ended up with a very awful looking color, so I mixed two paints together to get the color you see now. i](userimages/customs/32000/31784-1.jpg) Kid Marvel Man / Kid Miracle Man - Johnny Bates Marvelby The 4th Man-I am a huge fan of the Alan Moore / Neil Gaiman told stores of Marvel Man / Miracle Man. ![[Nemesis] -This is the Mark Millar and Steve McNiven Nemesis - from their Icon book.
-The design and execution was pretty simple. I saw the Ed McGuinness designed Atom figure at a Convention - and nabbed it, thinking it would be a perfect base for this custom. It was then a simple matter of finding the right kind of white, and applying multiple, consistent layers to the body.
-The mask I did some detail work on. I intentionally left the mask the way the Atom figure had it - even though Nemesis' face was slightly more covered. I did this because ultimately the identity of the Nemesis is about the man in the suit himself - not the face of the man under it. I thought the look he had here - was perfect, and there was no need to alter that by altering the way the existing mask sat on the face.
-The gun was from a G.I. Joe: Extreme Deluxe Iron Klaw. I liked the way it contrasted with the white costume. I drilled a whole in Nemesis' hand, inserted the gun, and actually painted it a shade darker.

I'm a huge Mark Millar, and MillarWorld books fan. Though Millar has introduced a number of fun & interesting characters to the comic book world - Superior is a breath of fresh air to comics in a quality that has been missing from the medium for some time: hope. It was that breath of fresh air, and "original" quality it had, that really prompted me to do this custom.
-Superior's base is the All Star Superman figure. For the most part - it was simply a matter of finding the correct paint to use. I tried 4 different versions of the paint you see, before I settled on the one I did - which turned out to be perfect. The inside and the outside of the cape, the gloves, and the boots weren't hard - as they too, were just repaints.
-The 2 large, gold-dots are from a piece of thin gold cardboard (a school supply). I used a whole punch.

![[Marvel Man / Miracle Man] -This is the first, serious custom I've done. Upon reading Miracle Man by Alan Moore (I managed to track down all the issues), and seeing that Marvel was going nowhere fast with the Marvel Man rights (meaning a lack of figure), I decided to make one.
-The figure base is a Captain Atom, from wave 1 of the Superman / Batman figure series. The head is a Aquaman, from the JLA Classic series (I believe). Both of these were Ed McGuiness molds.
-The rest is all painted by hand. Even the symbol. I used a mechanical pencil to block it off, and then steady handed it in.
-Hope you all like it as much as I enjoyed making it!](userimages/customs/31500/31141-1.jpg) Marvel Man / Miracle Man Marvelby The 4th Man-This is the first, serious custom I've done. It started off as a Batman: Dark Victory figure, whose ear got damaged. In doing a reread of the trade, I was inspired, and went to it. I shaved down both ears, so they were both consistent, and then took some out of the middle of the cape, in order that it match the split in the book. I repainted the belt and the body then, to better match the color in the book. I sketched out the bat-symbol on the body itself, in pencil, and then proceeded to paint that in as well. I used a black, ball-point pen to make the sweater-effect on his arms, as the shirt Batman wore in the book was a sweater. I attached an assortment of weapons - including two pieces of equipment from a Star Trek: First Contact Borg figure, a lego-computer, and a mini-gun, that looked an awful lot like a wielding tool, or laser to cut through something.
