![[Cyclops (Manifest Destiny/Utopia)] It's been a while, but I'm back with another Cyclops, this time in his current uniform. I'm not taking full credit for this one, it's basically loosecollector's excellent recipe.
Body: Black Panther
Head: Face-Off Daredevil
I typically wouldn't use such a bulky body for Cyke, since he's supposed to be slim, but for some reason it works for this costume. I gave the guy a manicure/pedicure, sanded down some details, and Apoxie Sculpted the gauntlets, boot guards, visor and chest X. I can't really improve on what loosecollector did, but I can change it up a little. I decided to paint the slot in his visor black, but make his red eyes visible, like the way Terry and Rachel Dodson drew/colored him. It turned out better than I expected.
I wasn't a fan of this costume at first, but I warmed up to it, and now it's one of my favorites. Now I need to make a jetpack for him.](userimages/customs/36000/35743-1.jpg) Cyclops (Manifest Destiny/Utopia) Marvel Legendsby SuperPatIt's been a while, but I'm back with another Cyclops, this time in his current uniform. This is, of course, Cyclops as seen in Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men.
Base: Xorn
Head: Ruby Quartz Armored Cyclops.
Once the promo pictures for Xorn were released, I knew I'd make another attempt at this costume. It's the perfect base for it, most of the work is done! I took off the head and jacket first. I dremeled away Xorn's chains from the chest, with the intention of painting on the lines for the turtleneck thing. But I thought better of it, and decided to sculpt it instead. I also sanded down some of the detail on the hands, to make them look more like gloves. I sculpted the X's on the elbows and gloves as well. The stripes on the sleeves are, you guessed it, rubber bands!! Then I popped the Cyke head on it.
Then came the jacket. I touched up the detail on it, adding black where there should be, and put it back on. But it didn't look good enough for me. So I tr](userimages/customs/31500/31333-1.jpg) Cyclops (New X-Men) V.2 Marvel Legendsby SuperPatAfter many years of not being completely satisfied with my first ever custom, I finally got around to redoing it. ![[Cyclops (Xenogenesis)] This is Cyclops' "Mutantes Sans Frontières" field gear, as seen in Warren Ellis' Astonishing X-Men storyline "Xenogenesis."
Base: Hasbro Punisher
Head: Quicksilver
Hat: X-Men movie Civilian Cyclops
This would've been a perfect time to use a Matt Murdock head but I didn't have one. However, I did have a Quicksilver head lying around. SO I popped it on a Punisher body, dremeled down the hair, sculpted the shades over a thin wire and re-sculpted the hair. I tried to make it look like Kaare Andrews' art. I took off the gun holster and sculpted an extra cargo pocket, and added some trusty rubber bands to add some detail to the torso and gloves.
The hat is probably my favorite part of the figure. It originally had a hole in the top of it so I had to fill it. The hat is also removable.
I wasn't too keen on the storyline when I originally read it, but after reading it in one sitting I felt better about it. I hope this figure does it justice. Pretty easy recipe, but the X on his waist was a bit of a challenge. I love the X-Men: First Class comic and wish it had lasted longer than it did. ![[Cyclops (Retribution)] There was a time when Cyclops had his hair exposed while wearing his second X-Factor costume, and I wanted a figure that represented that. This was around the time of the Marvel Comics Presents story, Retribution (hence the name of the custom), where he teamed up with Banshee to stop Master Mold from releasing a mutant specific disease.
Base: Captain Marvel
I sculpted the visor and a little extra hair in front of it, as well as the cuffs on his arms and boots. I also added an extra bit of fist to Captain Marvel's right hand. The original hand looked ridiculous. Seriously, what was that all about??
I'm going to make a hooded version of this costume soon, but since that was already made into a figure, it's low on the priority list.](userimages/customs/31000/30938-1.jpg) Cyclops (Retribution) Marvel Legendsby SuperPatThere was a time when Cyclops had his hair exposed while wearing his second X-Factor costume, and I wanted a figure that represented that. ![[Cyclops (New X-Men) V.1] This is actually my first custom figure I've ever attempted, around 2004 or 2005 maybe. I'm posting it now because I saw a slot in the Customizer Profile for your first custom. It's rubbish now, but I thought, what the heck?
Base: Ruby Quartz Armor Cyclops.
Everything Else: Sculpted! (with plumber's epoxy)
After reading Grant Morrison's run I knew I had to have a figure representing this ultra cool take on Cyke. When I made this I wasn't yet comfortable with swapping body parts, so I just sculpted on top of the pre-existing figure. Also the head was perfect, as was the turtleneck thing that was already on it, so I didn't have to sculpt that. I also wanted to keep the light-up feature. I cut off the X-emblem on his chest and set it aside. Disconnected the tubes coming out of him, then I dremelled the chest, arms, thighs, and pelvis areas. I used plumber's epoxy because I had yet to discover the wonders of Apoxie Sculpt. Belt/straps: XMC Stealth Cyclops
My friend calls him "Flock of Seagulls Cyclops." Popped a Gambit head on an Ant-Man body, sculpted the visor and the hair, and the details on the gloves. I took the straps that came with the Stealth Cyclops, repainted the red X, and glued them on. I was going to repaint the straps to make it more comic-accurate, but to be honest I liked the way they looked already. I used the 1st appearance Captain America to get that Kirby look. Sanded down the details on the head, sculpted a face mask to make it look less like a helmet, and sculpted a visor. Took the "wings" off of Yellowjacket and sculpted the over-shirt thing, the boot cuffs and the gloves.
