![[Captain America] I started out with a Headless F-O Cap and a ML Series VIII Cap head. I wanted a Cap that was a little closer to the ML VIII Cap that the head came from. I had a Series III Daredevil that I pretty much hated because of his blah sculpt and poor articulation but he had boots and hands that would work pretty good for my Cap.
I cut the pegs off the boots and dremeld sockets in their place to keep the articulation for the lower leg swivel and crafted forearms out of scrap arms and putty to make the hands fit. I did manage to keep the mid forearm swivel as well.
I repainted the head to match the body. I painted the boots and gauntlets brown and added red details just to give the figure a little more color. I partially repainted tha arms, legs and torso to get rid of scuffs and blemishes and added the gray panels on the pants. I threw in a shield that I picked up with the head and well, there he is.](userimages/customs/48500/48428-1.jpg) Captain America Captain Americaby ksdaddyI started out with a Headless F-O Cap and a ML Series VIII Cap head. The aliens caught my eye just like the STIKFAS, I guess with both it was their non-descript yet oddly distinctive generic appearance that just struck me as cool. Either way I decided to combine the two.
Basically this is a straight forward paint custom with the exception of the gun. The figure is a tan Alpha Male Military STIK that I painted flat white and then painted in the details in gray and black. The gun is a modified Omega Male Military bazooka that I chopped, shaped and painted into a STIKFAS-ized version of the aliens rifle.
Not a real technical custom but then again STIKFAS are a very basic, simple action figure. Hope you enjoy it.](userimages/customs/48000/47980-1.jpg) Justice League Secret Origins Alien Justice Leagueby ksdaddyI got into STIKFAS in a big way the first time I saw them at TRU and I got into the Justice League Secret Origins movie the first time I caught it on ...0 comments |
![[Mr. Grimm and Mr. Grimm] I’ve always loved the Twisted Metal video games and thought that Mr. Grimm and his bike Mr. Grimm were great characters. Death as a biker, awesome! So, when I got a couple of broken Ghost Riders and a ML series seven Flame Cycle it seemed meant to be.
This is my interpretation of the character(s) I liked the Head On Mr. Grimm with the leathers and exposed skull, Mr. Grimm the motorcycle is also similar to the Head On version but I also liked the look of the forward mounted guns on the PS3 Twisted Metal.
I got the skull idea from the TM Black Grimm.
The body is a repainted series seven Ghost Rider that had been beheaded with a movie Ghost Rider head and neck with the flames removed and some repainting. The figure was mostly a repaint aside from removing the flames grafting the head on and relocating the foot peg holes in the feet, I moved them from the toe to behind the toe joint.
Most of the work I did was on Mr. Grimm the motorcycle. First off I got rid of the shield / f](userimages/customs/48000/47830-1.jpg) Mr. Grimm and Mr. Grimm Twisted Metalby ksdaddyI’ve always loved the Twisted Metal video games and thought that Mr. Grimm and his bike Mr. Grimm were great characters. I started with a camo Long Range (or at least most of one) figure and the hands and forearms from a Duke. Originally was going to try for a comic book black and white color scheme (Black suit, white boots, belt and gauntlets) but when I started to assemble the figure it made the legs and feet look huge.
I repainted his arms and face a matching skin tone, switched to black and white gloves, made him a wider white belt with some elastic band and a buckle from Dasert Wolfs bandolier and left the boots white. The skull I wanted to look kind of primitive and imperfect similar to the look of the shirt the Thomas Jane punisher wore.
The head was a fairly rough looking Long Range head that I cut the pony tail off of and completely repainted accept for the eyes. He has a very serious, stern, no-nonsence look about him that I](userimages/customs/42500/42456-1.jpg) Punisher G.I. ![[Nick Fury] The first time I laid eyes on the Sigma 6 Lt. Stone my first thought was Nick Fury. I picked up a worse for wear Lt. Stone, a first relaese, paratrooper and arctic Duke in a lot cheap on ebay I took it as a sign to build my Fury. I used the head, hands, shoulder holster and pistol from Stone, the arms, legs ans torso and weapons from para Duke. the feet from arctic Duke and the double holsters and pistols from first release Duke.
I painted the head with Fury's signature brown and grey hair and gave him a 5:00 shadow, painted the holsters and straps light grey to match the boots, then I matched the blue of the para Duke body to paint the metalic light blue panels on the suit then decided to paint them a shade lighter to give the uniform more depth. Assembled the figure and armed him to the teeth and, well, here's the end result. I wanted a more classic paint job and I wanted it to look scuffed, scraped and dirty to give it a more battle worn look. I also added energy blasters to the palms of both hands.
I disassembled the figure and cleaned it with alcohol. I used filed down watch caps from Stikfas figures for the palms. I drilled into each hand to sink them to where they protruded just slightly from the palm then painted the inside of them. I painted flat black on the shoulder joints, upper arms and hip joints. I mixed both shades of purple from Testors acrylic paint then applied them with a brush. I re-assembled the figure and then used silvers and flat tan to weather and dirty it up a bit.
I built models for years and started geting into customizing action figures when Stikfas came out but this is my first large scale full repaint. It's not perfect but I'm still trying to work out the weathering and wea](userimages/customs/42000/41682-1.jpg) Sentinel Marvel Universeby ksdaddyBasically this is a repaint of the basic Sentinel I picked up on clearance at Wal Mart for 30 bucks.
