![[Clayface] Hey Guys, Again been away a while celebrating Christmas with the family and going through complications in breaking up with my band. Anywho, I started off with a Thing figure and wanted a clayface so I heated off his head, washed him and his joints to get rid of the figure grease (first time I have done it) and used a steve austin head to act as a base for the head during sculpting. I sculpted parts which would look like clay is dripping down his body and having the rocky body look like dry clay. I Washed the Green lantern constructs that came with the god awful 3/34 movie figures and then painted both Clayface and the Constructs with Tamiya Acrylic 'Flat Earth' to give it the clay look, Finally I painted inside the eyes and mouth with black and added makeshift pegs in the constructs so that his hand could be changed.
Hope you like it as it is the first figure that I have used Sculpt on :)
Take care and I hope everyone has an extremely prosperous and happy new year!

![[Batman Arkham Files Clayface] So this is my first submission to the realm.
"Now for a figure that has been in the work in progress stage for awhile now and my first time sculpting also to my knowledge has not been made in this scale ever before it is Clayface!!! The base figure is a ROC Heavy Duty with the lower arms that are a Indiana Jones Temple Guardians legs so he had the elongated limbs, the lower legs are from an ROC accelerator suit Duke and head from an ROC Arctic Snake Eyes. The rest filler, sand, green stuff, garden wire and cocktail sticks also a whole ton of super glue and sanding ;)
Painted with citadel paints.
Comments welcome until next time."

![[Clayface] Alright guys, this one's a biggun. After Mr. Freeze went over so well, I decided I wanted to do my take on Batman's Rogue's Gallery, and this is my second entry!
Arkillo Arms & Leg. Validus torso and hips. I popped on a Ultra Humanite head BACKWARDS for the peg hole, and sculpted everything else.
Clayface comes with two 'regular' arms, a hammer arm, and a bladed arm. He also has a GIGANTIC 12 inch 'stretch' arm made from Parallax BAF pieces, Hot Glue, and a PITT hand.
Thanks to Jin Saotome and MadTinker customs for some of the inspiration. I was working on this a bit ago, but had to put it on hold when I got my new job. Once I started working on it, I saw both Jin and MT had posted theirs. I wanted mine to retain a bit of the Batman TAS version, but still look like he could hold his own in the New 52 as well. I hope you guys like it. Poison Ivy's next!!

![[Clayface] Howdy.. didnt think I was ever gonna find time to post anymore work..
This was Smart Hulk Legs, Arillo upper and lower Torso, Arms. Maestro Hulk head.. lots of epoxy and lots of resin to get the drippy wet clay look.
took several attempts to get the head right.
Also added a batman coming out of the back, either he was swallowed and fighting his way out or, he is slowly being absorbed in.
You pick.
Missed ya'll.

I've always thought he'd make a great build-a-figure and that's the look I was aiming for here. Clayface was made using a Green lantern Movie Masters Kilowog for the base body and a Spawn Desiccator for the head. Clayface's surface was almost completely sculpted over using Aves studio's Apoxie Sculpt (yes it comes in brown!) as were the hands and head. To get good clay folds start at the bottom and work up adding rings of sculpt around the body/limbs and smoothing them upwards. His clay mallet hand came from an Imaginext Clayface toy and his clay mace hand was made from a clear acrylic Christmas star ornament with sculpt around it.
Clayface's head is double ball jointed so he can look around in any position and his jaw opens thanks to the Desiccator head. This gives him a wide range of looks when attacking or just standing around looking menacing. ![[Clayface V. 2] I had wanted to make a Clayface figure for a long time, but couldn't figure out the right base figure to use. I opened up the "mutating" Abomination figure (with Blonksy figure that fits in the back) and it hit me that this would be ideal. Hope it worked. DAS air-drying clay (how appropriate!), two-part epoxy putty and Tamiya "toothpaste" putty, with multiple coats of paint to achieve a muddy colour.
This is a revisiting of that custom and something of an overhaul. I sculpted more detail onto the figure so that it has more of flowing, caking mud look, and re-sculpted the mace hand - all the spikes are sculpted from epoxy putty. Repainted, and he's good to go! My main gripe is that he's still a little too short and short on articulation as well, but I think it works for the time being.](userimages/customs/41500/41239-1.jpg) Clayface V. 2 Batmanby JeddTheJediI had wanted to make a Clayface figure for a long time, but couldn't figure out the right base figure to use. ![[Clayface 12"] This one got away from me a bit. I'm soooo glad to be done with this guy. He was started 2, maybe 3 years ago as something to do with left-over bits of apoxie from other figures. When this contest was announced he was less than halfway finished. So this contest was really the inspiration to get him completed. Over the last month I have been working on him day and night.
The lower half is a movie edition roto Hulk with no feet. The top half is a FF4 movie edition roto Thing with no head. The left arm of the Thig was cut in the middle and extended about an inch to make it a better match with the right arm. The whole figure weighs about 4 lbs, 3 lbs of that being apoxie. The teeth are pieces of leather strap, placed and hardened with idb gel. Base coated with brown and top brushed with golden brown. Clear coated matte finish.
