![[WATCHMEN: the Comedian] Hello,
Continuing (albeit slowly) my Wathcmen series, I have completed the Comedian. What a piece of work this guy was in the story, huh? Still, he was cool on many levels.
So I sculpted the head (hair, mustache), his chest/torso armor, armor buckles, shin guards and knee pads. For his shoulder pads, the were from a Dark Knight Movie Masters Batman figure-I sculpted a star on one and the three-tiered, red and white striped armor plate on the other. I used black pleather staps, glued to the top of the shoulder, and then glued under the pad, same is with my last Freeze custom. This allows the shoulder pads free movement and doesn't restrict the arms at all.
His belt and handgun came from a Battlestar Galactica figure, and the over the shoulder straps are the same strips that hold the pads on. His machine gun and riot gun are from the weapons bin. On his elbows, I took knee armor straps off a Ninja Gaiden figure (who has been turned into a Dark Knight for my Bank Robber Joker, you'll s](userimages/customs/47000/46774-1.jpg) WATCHMEN: the Comedian Marvel Legendsby fitzjediHello,

Since the figures i mainly customize are 3¾. Lol the hardest part of this build was the cigar in his mouth. This figure was already small so the cigar had to be tht much smaller.lol but i was pleased wit the end result. The only thing i regret with this build is that i didnt have a spare holster to give him one on each side like he has in the movie. But i comfort myself in thinking that there probably was a time when he was feeling lazy and only wore one and this figure is depicting that one time.lol](userimages/customs/46500/46451-1.jpg) Comedian Watchmenby PlasticSurgen88Here is my custom Comedian figure from the Watchmen. ![[The Comedian] Hey all,
So here's something dear to my heart...okay, I mean I think this dude ROCKS: The Comedian. He was such an unstable and awesome pyschopath in WATCHMEN, I loved his character in the graphic novel and the movie.
Bulletstorm body, Duke Nuke'em head with a bit of sculpt. Sculpted the happy face buttons, and the rest is a repaint. Simple, I know, but I need that now and again to allow x-acto wounds to heal.
Critique away!

But the biggest beating he recived was when he tangled with Rorschach witch led him to start heroic acts. Little did he know in the future he would work with this mysterious man as one of the Watchmen! This little story is made up I mean come on we all know the comedian is way older then Rorschach. Up next in my series of 3.75 inch Watchmen figures is the only figure in the series that isn't completely painted from head to toe...The Comedian. He was created using an X-Men Origins Wolverine "Strike Mission Wolverine" as the base and for the hands, and the head and arms came from an X-Men Origins Wolverine "Logan" figure.
The first step was swapping out all the parts. The head and arms that came with the Strike Missing Wolverine just wouldn't do. The head was wearing a helmet and the arms were covered in tactical gear, and the Comedian does NOT wear a helmet and he has bare arms. So I used the old boil and pop method to swap out the heads and arms. I kept the original Wolverine's hands since they were gloved and the Comedian wears gloves too. All I did to the hands was cut off Wolverine's claws.
Then I worked on the head. I sanded down his hair points and sideburns and painted on a domino mask and moustache. I even used](userimages/customs/15500/15068-1.jpg) The Comedian Watchmenby CrimsonVampyreMovie Comedian - Created May 19, 2009

![[The Comedian-Edward Blake] Watchmen-what a comic! What a story-and soon to be seen as a movie-about time!!! But before all the movie hype gets going I present my version of The Comedian.
I always wanted a Comedian figure-I loved his character in the comic book so finally after many years I got around to making a Comedian for myself.
Recipe:
Head-LCBH Dredd-removed helmet and sculpted the hair, the scar and cigar.
Body-ML Power Man -removed the chains and collar-I liked the bulk of the figure and the Comedian was a big guy so it seemed a good choice.
Arms-ML Wolverine (the first one) took off claws-again the big arms add to the figure-there is a quote in the comic which says" ...he had muscles like a weight-lifter" and these arms fit the bill just right.
Legs- ML Stealth Wolverine.
The straps/pads and weapons were from bits and bobs I had in my spares/scraps-a comic accurate paint job and voila -The Comedian
I really like the costume and wanted to portray Eddie as an older man-hence the grey hair](userimages/customs/11500/11037-1.jpg) The Comedian-Edward Blake Watchmenby Fant0masWatchmen-what a comic! I started with a 13" Punisher figure and then carved it and painted it until I had the base body.I made three interchangeable heads- Middle aged Comedian, older scarred Comedian and older Comedian with his leather mask (the last one is a full head and is one piece, not a removable hood). I gave him his signature web gear with the star shoulder pad (I also made a striped one, as I always thought he should have two) a large rifle from a spawn figure, a machine gun with opening latch and bullet bandoleer, a pistol, a blackjack, a boot knife, three grenades that fit in containers on his web belt, an opening shotgun and a base adorned with the blood stained smiley face that is the signature image of the book. I'm nearing completion on Rorschach, so Eddie here will have company soon.](userimages/customs/9000/8702-1.jpg) The Comedian Watchmenby solitaireAs the movie approaches, Watchmen is going to become a big deal in the mainstream media, and the story of watchmen all begins with this big guy here: ...4 comments |
