![[WATCHMEN: Dr. Manhattan] Hey again,
LAST of my Watchmen. Not much, just a complete repaint. This figure is fantastic and I will definitely pick up more of these. Can anyone say NAMOR!?
Anyway, he's a great sculpt, but he's a flat sort of light blue. I painted in darker shades of blue into the musculature and then dry brushed several layers of brighter and brighter light blues. The last layer was almost white, and dry brushed the least, so as to give really bright highlights. Had to repaint his symbol on his forehead too. Forgot to take a before photo, but you can see it online. The pictures don't do the repaint justice, I think it looks fantastic in person.
Thanks for looking. The set will be available soon, if anyone's interested.
Critiques welcome, as always!

I felt like improving upon my original design for a custom Dr. Manhattan by using, in my opinion, a much better base body. I used the X-Men Origins: Wolverine Iceman figure as the base and painted him in several shades of blue to get the look his skin had in the movie. Really, all this one required was a good paint job and it was pretty good practice for me and I think this is a much better representation of the character than my previous custom.](userimages/customs/36000/35968-1.jpg) Dr. Manhattan, Version 2 Watchmenby CrimsonVampyreCustom Dr. Manhattan V.2 – Created Oct 18, 2011

The second custom to be completed in my Watchmen set is Dr. Manhattan. He was created using a Marvel Universe Silver Surfer figure.
There was no swapping parts or sculpting on this figure. Nope, I just took a Silver Surfer and painted him completely from head to toe, in all nooks, crannies, and joints. I started this by completely painting the figure with a dark mettalic testors blue. Then, over that, I dry-brushed some Testors French Blue, and over that still I dry-brushed some gloss white to bring out the details even more.
Of course I took my time on parts, such as the face. On the face I carefully made sure his cheek bones and his lips stood out, and I toom some metallic dark blue and painted it around his eyes, then painted his actual eyes gloss white. Then I took the same metallic dark blue and painted the symbol Dr. Manhattan sports on his forehead.
Then, I painted his black speedos on him using flat black. That's about all for th](userimages/customs/15500/15066-1.jpg) Dr. Manhattan Watchmenby CrimsonVampyreMovie Dr. Manhattan - Created May 18, 2009

![[Dr. Manhattan] Dr. Manhattan seems to have complete mastery over the manipulation of matter and energies around him, as well as a complete understanding of their composition on the most fundamental level. This power extends to complete control of his physical form, which is generated instinctively by his mind. While the true extent and nature of his power is not known (and those powers he has exhibited could only be best described as god-like), it is also worth mentioning that because of his unique perception of time, energy, and matter Dr. Manhattan does not view life or humanity in the same way that normal sentient beings would. He may also be incapable of normal human emotions, as his entire being is constantly preoccupied with the energies of the universe.
Added WWE Kane's head to Omac's body, replaced the hands and sculpted some toes. Omac was the only base figure that was completely clear blue and worked well to appear like he was radioactively glowing.
