![[DCUC Superman Kingdom Come Version 2] Hello to you all
Wasn´t completely happy with my first version, as the sculpt was a bit rough, and the body complexion wasn´t right.
This time I used a Batman beyond torso to make him buffer, as the previous superman base I used had a slimmer buck, especially on chest and waist. When assembling, I used the small rubber bands attached to some shoulder pegs to make the shoulders wider. I gave him DCD New Krypton superman hands, as they are bigger and wrinkled. Smoothed the sculpt a lot more this time, improved the paint job, used a vinyl decal for the chest insignia and gave him a cloth cape. Now I am really happy with how he came out. Hope you like him too, and thanks for watching.](userimages/customs/50500/50005-1.jpg) DCUC Superman Kingdom Come Version 2 DC Universeby ringomendozaHello to you all

After meeting several like-minded super powered beings, he formed the Justice Lords to help survey the Earth and keep it clear of any and all criminal activity. He took off Jor-El’s red and blue uniform, and instead donned one that’s black and white, to match his new view on justice. There are no gray areas with this new Justice Lord Superman.”
I really love the new suit in the upcoming Man of Steel movie, so I got it in my head that it would be cool to try out different design concepts. One of the most popular, and one that I too happen to love, is the Justice Lords costume from the episode “A Better World” from the Justice League cartoon. Since the costume is all black, I used the arms and lower body from the Movie Masters General Zod figure, and the torso, head, and cape from Superman. ![[Man of Steel | Superman with Ab Crunch Articulatio] Well I finally did it. This was originally Phase I of what I had intended for my ultimate Man of Steel Superman figure. At first I thought this would take 2 figures to make one complete figure but with careful cutting I was able to make it happen with ONLY one figure. The torso is scored using an xacto to define the new joint then the body is pulled apart into top and lower half. A 3/8 ball bearing becomes the pivot with a 1/4" button magnet on either side then the buttons are reinforced with 1/8" slices of hot glue added to their outsides. The inside of the body is then dotted with hot glue to create a connection point keeping all articulation internal with no external evidence of tampering.
The lower end of the upper torso is then dragged over 2 diverse grits of sand paper to round off the front and back to allow for smooth movement. Once complete I added the fabric cape as well as my normal adjustments.

Stll, I couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like a little more classically inspired. So I took the newly released Man of Steel Movie Masters Superman figure and gave him a full repaint that’s inspired by his classic look. I made the reds and blues much more vibrant, and even gave him back his trunks! It has an intricate paint job with lots of washes and dry brushes of various pigments to help really bring out every detail in the suit. I made sure, for the yellow in his emblem and belt, to use two different gold hues to bring out a vibrant metallic look. I also sculpted a little spit curl coming down from his hair, to really drive home the classic Superman vibe I was going for. I also made it so Superman can actually look up now! The standard figure was a dog, in that it couldn’t look up at all, but with a little modification he can now look up to the skies, and looks good](userimages/customs/50000/49583-1.jpg) Superman Man of Steel Classic Repaint W/ Heat Visi |
![[Man of Steel | Superman with Added Torso Articulat] I took another superman an scored the abdomen right below the emblem. I then heated up the lower torso so I could round it off to fit back inside the now hollowed upper torso. I then placed a button magnet in the top torso and a metal ball bearing in the lower torso. Then with much easier access I added the cape and BAM!!! Phase 1 to correct our mis articulated Super Hero. While I added range there's still some work that could be done to make it more controllable.
All the same tricks have been used on the body itself. The hips have been cut back to allow deeper movement of the legs. The knees akles and elbows have been bored out for a tighter close and the neck has been deepened for a better head tilt for flying.
I did experiment with a different head for a second but opted for the original for most shots.](userimages/customs/50000/49557-1.jpg) Man of Steel | Superman with Added Torso Articulat Movie Mastersby GeekSummitI took another superman an scored the abdomen right below the emblem. I had to be much more precise with the holes for the cape to be pulled through. If your off it will show pretty badly. The entire figure is given a black wash to deepen the texture details in the costume and muscles. The silver banding also gets a detailing individually. Joints in the knees and elbows have been deepened for added articulation. The neck and hips and ankles have also been altered for better flight posing. I removed the lowest banding connected to the t-crotch to allow the legs to go further back and forward for added standing and flying poses.
That's really it.

Following Superman's death, they did the Reign of the Supermen, but then decided to bring back the Man of Steel. The design wasn't the greatest, but I did like Superman in a black uniform. In fact, this particular custom was inspired by the original Superpowers collection Superman figure which I coveted as a child. I never did get one! I'm not bitter about it at all though.
Recipe:
DCUC Ultra Man body (perfect shade of Superman blue!) stripped down with head and cape removed. The 'S' symbol, belt and boot tops were all sculpted with Milliput.
The head is an original sculpt by myself. Influenced by pictures of the original SP Sups figure and John Byrne's Man of Steel artwork of the character.
The cloth cape has craft wire sewn along the edges for posability I also prefer Sups to have a yellow 'S' on the back of his cape so I painted the shield with Acrylics and then went over it with a water proof Fine Liner pen for the details...and...er...that's about it! ![[Red Son Superman] I had started this guy earlier this week, but Iron Will got his up first. Weird how we were on the same basic design route, too. Well, my goal was to make the original look from the comic, so I dug it out and really tried to work out the different colors on his boots, his emblem, his sleeves, and exactly what shade his costume itself was. Once I worked all that out, he came together well. My only personal issue is the belt. For the sake of time and being in the flow, I painted the emblem on his belt, but I'm wishing now I had sculpted it on. It doesn't look right. I ran out of good capes, so I opted to use the Gladiator cape, just gluing it on his back. It looks nice, but it does hinder movement more than I would like.](userimages/customs/49500/49326-1.jpg) Red Son Superman DC Infinite Heroesby DravenheartI had started this guy earlier this week, but Iron Will got his up first. ![[DC Injustice Red Son Superman] Here's my second Superman of the night: RED SON skin from DC Injustice.
I read this comic a few years ago an have made this dude before, but wanted to do one in the scale of DCUC (my last was a WWE scale), as well as keep him in line with the new game.
Took the Lead figure (I think it was Lead) and cut off his tunic. The base was a beautiful mettalic gray-blue and after a solid wash, held onto paint outstandingly. I love this figure, as he's bulky but not barrel-chested as most DCUC are. I sculpted the chest emblem in layers over a couple days. That Soviet symbol is quite difficult to nail, so I got as close as I could. Sculpted the hair and collar, and boots. Belt is black pleather and the buckle is cut fodder.
Cape is of course wired and anchored and look awesome in poses.

So I have another round of DC Injustice inspired figures coming now. Tonight, a couple versions of Superman. Later, some Lanterns, Amazons, supporting cast, and alternate costumes.
Same basic recipe as before, but with some refinements to the sculpted armor which now covers even more of his body, and a much more metallic and darker paint scheme. The 'S' design is closer to the Frank Miller style than the game, but that was a creative license I thought would look cool. Wired the cape, as is my specialty and preference, and DONE!
One evil-looking Superman ready to assume command of Earth...for it's own good.

![[Black Lantern Superman] When I saw the 6" DC figure of Black Lantern Supes I knew I REALLY wanted to make a 3.75" version of that costume. I really like the design, and I'm a total sucker for black/white/silver/ect paint schemes. Add to that I'm not a big fan of Superman but I am a fan of alternate interpretations of Superman so an evil one is pretty legit. Mostly just a repaint, cut off the mohawk and resculpted Supes' hair but other than that it was pretty simple. ![[Brainiac (Superman Animated Style)] “For internal review only”
Last week Livewire was defeated by a bucket of water....A BUCKET!!! So I guess bigger steps need to be taken, hence, I reconstructed BRAINIAC! (Lex will love this)
Brainiac was made out of a DCUC Jemm (truly outrageous base!) with swapped hands and resculpted Brainiac costume elements in the entire figure. For the head I went a bit realistic, making a cast of the DCUC 2 pack Brainiac (horrible representation of him in my opinion) and then retooling the head in the animated style (see pics in the video) One repaint later and the true, only representation of Brainiac (in my canon) lives!
I have heard countless warnings about the hazard that Brainiac poses…. Well, I have a nice Firewall and my Norton is up to date, so guess what? ……Wait…What is this virus I found… WAAAAAAAAAGH!!!
