![[Thunderbird] I had previously used this figure as my hero Darkfire, but when I got the Great Kali (which suited Darkfire's stature better) I changed to that one. So I thought... who that had this bulk to him would work...& I decided that Thunderbird would be perfect!
I moulded some of his hair, & shaved pieces from spare parts. Had a Red Clothlike bag that I cut & made the Fringe & Headband. Painted everything, & molded the Belt & Wristbands out of self drying clay. Also made the Knife out of spare parts. ![[Exiles Thunderbird] This was a really fun custom to make. It was a commission I got about a year ago. I don't read Exiles, so I was pretty oblivious to the character. None the less, he was a lot of fun. The customer wanted him to have the ability to have swappable legs so that he could transform form humanoid form into his berserker mode. I had just purchase some ball joints from Japan that were perfect for the job. The base figure was a SOTA SF Zangief. The lower torso is from a SMC Buzzing Beetle. The alternate legs are from an ML Onslaught. The heads are modified SOTA SF E. Hondas. Finally, the hands are from a DCSH Mongul. The rest is a crud ton of Apoxie Sculpt.](userimages/customs/27000/26569-1.jpg) Exiles Thunderbird Marvel Legendsby CaptainRonThis was a really fun custom to make. ![[Thunderbirds Virgil Tracy] Hi All
I started watching the Thnuderbirds on DVD again and thought that it would be a cool idea to make some dio's, so I looked around the net and found these cool Thunderbird Microman Figures from TAKARA.
I ordered a few and started work straight away once I got them, with the first dio I just wanted something nice and simple to show of the figure and hoverbike.
Once I got the look and feel of the dio I painted and weathered everything using Vallejo, GW and pastels.
When I was working on this dio I wanted the original feel of TB's in the way the scenery looked realistic and the characters acted real but had that puppet feel to them.
RECIPE
Virgil and Hoverbike - Are from TAKARA's Microman series the only thing I changed was the hands as I think they were to small.
I swapped the hands for some 6" hands from the Angel action figures. I also repainted the head, boots and sash re- adjusted the sash to fit better.
The only thing that I didn't like about this fig](userimages/customs/21500/21274-1.jpg) Thunderbirds Virgil Tracy "V"by HembleHi All

![[THUNDERBIRD] Hey gang,
Here's my newest work. This is a custom made THUNDERBIRD. He was made from a Batista ( spelling?) WWE Deluxe Aggresion wrestling figure. The Batistia head was removed and replace with a Son of Hulk, SKAR head. I removed his hair and re-sculpted it using Aves Apoxie Sculpt. His belt, wrist guantlets and head band were sculpted as well. His arm and leg tassles were cut from a turnakit, from a family members vist to the hospital, then air brush painted. They were then super glued onto the biceps and calves. The feathers on the back of his head were cut from a Marvel Legends: Falcon's Eagle acessories "wing" then reshaped, glued on then the small bun was sculpted over top of the feathers to help hold them on. Lastly the belt and gauntlets were painted silver then several coats of clear yellow. The suit was hand painted to match the classic comic version of Thunderbird...and there ya have it!!](userimages/customs/15000/14784-1.jpg) THUNDERBIRD | ![[Thunderbird] Base: Doc Samson

![[Thunderbird III] OK this guy has been on the block from waaaaaay back when I was doing my Revanche and for one reason or another been benched for a great many months. In an effort to clear some workspace I've finished him off to round out my X-Treme team. The body had a massive dremel job to remove chest and arm detail. The belt, hair, zipper, shoulder pads and gauntlets were sculpted and the head is from a FF4 boxset Johnny storm. I had to do several passes on the paint job as the plastic Cyke was moulded from is much smoother and didn't hold so well. I'm not happy with the arms still as they don't look shaped properly for flesh but I think I need a better than budget dremel (hint hint Santa).](userimages/customs/4500/4331-1.jpg) Thunderbird III Marvel Legendsby WingsOK this guy has been on the block from waaaaaay back when I was doing my Revanche and for one reason or another been benched for a great many months. ...4 comments | ![[Thunderbird (John Proudstar)] Always wanted to do have a Thunderbird so here it is, enjoy...

![[Thunderbird] Ok I really took my time with T-Bird. I didn't realise the amount of detail required with his costume but I'm happy withth eoutcome. I snagged a T-Hwk figure but realised that size wise he was way too big to be the original Thunderbird who was always depicted as being around Colossus' height. So I swapped the head with the XMC Sabretooth figure and swapped out the hands with a couple of the S-F Guile fists. I recycled the trim from T-Hawk for his boots and shoulders and sculpted the belt and cuffs. Although the leg straps weren't part of the original costume I kept them in to break up the legs. A feather adjust and full repaint later and I've rounded out my Giant Sized X-Men team!](userimages/customs/2500/2057-1.jpg) Thunderbird Marvel Legendsby WingsOk I really took my time with T-Bird.
