![[Ursa Major] I love the Soviet Super Soldiers. Their first appearance was in The Incredible Hulk #258 (Apr 1981). created by Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema. Ursa Major was a hulk-like Russian hero. Instead of transforming into a big, green monster he turned into a big ol' bear! I don't know if he was a grizzly or kodiak!
Some info about Mikhail Ursus:
Ursus is a mutant with the power to transform himself into a brown bear. While in his bear form he can press about 15 tons and has the heightened reflexes, senses, stamina, and resistance to injury many times that of a normal brown bear. His human intellect and the ability to speak remains with him while he is in this bear form. It is unknown how long he can remain in his bear form.
My Recipe called for:
A Marvel Legends Hulk series Wendigo!
One toy bear(I didn't think I should attempt to sculpt one!)
I took the head off Wendigo, cut the head off the bear just below his neckline where it would still rotate
I removed the bears arms and legs

![[Ursa] Don't ask me which wrestler this was I barely know that is what it was. LOL Compared to her compatriots she was easy to make. A wrestling chick. A DC Direct Ursa head and jacket a little green stuff and paint and walla! Now though in the pics she seems to be more silver she actually is a sporting black with a silverized gun metal that in regular light is very different from Non but reflective light kills this effect. I was very surprised to learn Ursa has no Kryptonian family crest. Though she is Zod's mate she is not his wife and has no crest of her own. So while Zod and Non sport their crest She does not instead I gave her earth badges similar to those she stole from law officials on Earth in the movie. Go figure no crest in a society where that means so much.](userimages/customs/34500/34234-1.jpg) Ursa DC Universeby Bob-A-FerretDon't ask me which wrestler this was I barely know that is what it was. My love for these movies flooded back, I felt great emotion. I really loved the evil characters of the Phantom Zone villains, and how Superman would have been defeated if he did not quickly outsmart them. I have a love for figures in the 3.75 inch size, because that is what I had when I was a kid. I bought the Infinite Heroes Superman for my son. People complain that this line doesn't feature enough articulation, but I say it is just enough because they are much sturdier than Marvel Universe figs. So I thought that generally the current selection of Superman villains in this size was almost non existent. How many times can you use Lex Luthor? So I got an idea when I saw a fig that slightly resembled Zod. I had never made a custom fig before, and hesitated for days to get it. When I did, and made it, I was so pleased with the result that I bought two more figs to make into NON and URSA. ![[Ursa U-Ban] This is number 10 in my series of Earth-2 Superman fan fiction. This character is Ursa U-Ban, a half-breed Kryptonian and daughter of classic Golden Age Superman foe U-Ban of the Evil Three, who is a foe of the Earth-2 Superman's son Clark Kent, Jr. during his time as the Earth-2 Superboy (Ursa is the twin sister of R-Ban, a character created by a fellow fan fiction writer friend of mine, Bob "Goose" Gansler...R-Ban is also here on the Realm, so check him out after you see his sister).
Again, this figure was a pretty straight forward custom. I merely took the Super Lois Lane and, after trimming down the skirt into a triangular point in the front and back, gave her a full body repaint, and applied a hand drawn and designed square-shaped symbol to her chest with a little glue. Lastly, I swapped out the Lois head for the Supergirl head (which had been previously repainted), attached the Supergirl gloved hands (which also had been repainted), and TA-DA...Ursa U-Ban, nemesis o](userimages/customs/30000/29980-1.jpg) Ursa U-Ban DC Directby manomight1974This is number 10 in my series of Earth-2 Superman fan fiction. ![[URSA from Superman II] Hello,
Continuing on in the series of Superman movie figures I was asked to make, I finished up the villains with Ursa. She was incredibly difficult to cast (I.e. pick a base figure for) and I went half-nuts trying. Luckily, when I decided to go for broke with NON, I decided to do the same with Ursa. I picked up Tomorrow Woman for a couple bucks, cut off the skirt, tore off the cape, and began to sculpt. I had to sculpt the shirt-with the open-slit sleeves and pants with the open slits up the sides. Additionally, I had to add hair onto her head because the figure had a skater-style, almost shaved back of the head. I sculpted the hair and flipped it in back, then paint and sealer. This was hard, I'm not gonna lie, for my rookie butt. But I think she came out well. Comment away, my friends.
