Luke Skywalker (Bespin Gear)
Star Wars - Power of the Force (1995) (Kenner) - Freeze Frame
To this date, this is the only Luke figure I actually like. All the other models of him made him look like some he-man instead of a shrimpy farmboy. Luke was never bulk, why make him all bulked up?
Standing at 3.75 inches, he probably has the best stance and sculpt of my figures in my opinion. He may be the only character who doesn't look like hes leaning forward or look that bad in a sitting pose. Luke comes with three nice things, a blaster, his saber and a removable hand. The removable hand is kinda interesting. Most people know Bespin is where Luke lost his hand and this figure delivers. Its got that erm cork method. You pop the end on the hand into the socket and you can pop it out. The dumbest thing Hasbro did was NOT TELL US ABOUT THIS FUNCTION. When I first opened mine up many years ago, I played with it and popped the hand off. Thinking I broke my new toy I ran to the nearest adult and they super-glued it back on. Me thinking the new toy was really fragile, never played with it. Only years later did I realize Star wars figure are solid plastic, he shouldn't have even been able to move the hand around. Knowing this I dug him out and pulled the glue off, slightly annoyed.
Our hero Luke comes in his Bespin Gear. His clothes are tan and he has several pouches and straps which are brown. His gun is a flat black and his sabers hilt is sliver while the blade is blue. The flesh paint is slightly darker then his clothes and they did good on the hand, even painting the cork part. His hair is a tan/mud color.
Due to his hand function he actually has more articulation. He has movement at his head, shoulders, legs and at his right wrist which allows for more lightsaber poses.
An awesome figure and best representation of Luke, much better then those He-man Lukes in my opinion.
