Chewbacca (Hoth) Review

Chewbacca (Hoth)
Star Wars - Power of the Force (1995) (Kenner) - Flashback Photos
I haven’t yet found a Chewbacca I like and I doubt I ever will. The original ones for the 1995 series were all werewolf He-men. They didn’t look like the Chewie we know at all. However, the Hoth flashback version was a better figure then the old ones, not great but still better.

He stands the typical 3.75 inches tall. His sculpt is much better now, he’s not overly huge and actually looks like Chewie. He's featured in his Hoth style which is still basically him but with all his hair blowing one way and covered in snow. He comes with one item, his bowcaster. I cant say for the other bowcasters but I like this one, it fits his hands and its to scale.

One thing that will never change, repackage or not is his coloring. His fur is still brown but now with white patches for snow. His belts and pouches are all a dark red color. His face looks like it’s showing an expression of surprise as his eyes look wide and his mouth is open. His bowcaster is cast in a light grey plastic and isn’t hard plastic, it can bend easily.

Articulation is less here being at only the arms and the legs. Since the head is supposed to match up with the snow covered fur its plain casted on and doesn’t move and I don’t dare try for fear of breaking him.

A much better Chewie then the older ones but still not great. He still doesn’t seem like Chewie, more like a big snow covered gorilla with a laser crossbow.
