| Current Projects: | A few characters at the moment and a few originals.I am a BIG Jason Voorhees / Michael Myers fan and I am working on a few versions of these two characters whilst doing some other characters from different films. I often work on 10 to 12inch figures,I like to do well known characters that interest me but i really like doing horror related characters and villains, sometimes those rare unknown B-movie characters or i try to do characters that have never officially been released.A lot of the customizers on here combine parts from various figures which is a style i will have to try soon, but my style is to sculpt. I have a few customs to do once i get the right bases for them,-- a Lord Zedd, my forth Angela Baker custom, a few unreleased characters, some originals sometime in the near future.I have been customizing since late 2007, but have only joined Figure Realm since 2011, I'm still a bit rough around the edges but I am still learning to perfect my customizing and style and this is the perfect place for that. | | Comments: | I have the pleasure of growing up in the early 80s when T.V. Series, cartoons and films were good, I just love 80's horror and sci-fi, even the underrated, overlooked, trashy, bad acting flicks .I like drawing characters from films and have drew many over the years including some original ideas of my own which i have yet to customize, but now i'm customizing with action figures, i guess i'm taking it that step further, instead of drawing characters on paper, i'm making them more real by modeling and sculpting them.Usually i make my customs for myself to satisfy my inner geek. What got me started on horror films was when i saw Michael Jackson's Thriller and the making of Thriller. Once i saw all the special effects and how they were done i just fell in love with this kind of stuff, then of course when i watched other films, i wanted to own action figures of these characters and make masks out of whatever i could find around the house, i think my first custom was back in 1989 when i watched Jason Takes Manhattan and i wanted to make a custom, so i got some 5inch random figure and heated the face up and smudged the face with a spoon, the face was all twisted, so i thought yeah that looks like Jason, painted the figure with black gloss paint to give him that slimey look, which took forever to dry. All these action figures today like Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers e.t.c.there wasn't many if any, around back in the 80's, so it's good to see these guys in the shops today, and if i can't afford a certain figure, or if they haven't officially released one then i set about making my own. |
