Using Bandai Tamashii Stage Act.4 or .5 Flight Stands + Pics

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I've been trying to find different flight stands for Marvel Legend figures. The ones they came with are OK, but not great. They also only really work with characters that have peg holes. The Matty Collector ones are bulky and kind of pricey. I don't feel like making my own and don't want to damage the figure or have them fall from a balancing act. I came across these on Amazon:

I picked up one of each. If they work, seems like a good deal considering they each come with three flight stands. The You Tube videos and reviews I found seemed to indicate they are decent stands. Either way, I used my Discover Card Rewards Points on them If this is old news, my bad.

Here are some pics. These have been set up for three months before posting anything to see if they would hold up. Taking thejado101's advice, and after finding out myself, I came up with some ways to hold heavier figures. Without using a combination of two stands, it's too much of a balancing act otherwise, the stands would give way or not seem sturdy enough for certain poses over the long haul.

Both stands are nice and come with different parts. All the parts are interchangeable. At $15 each for a set that includes 3 bases and accessories with free shipping through Amazon, I would easily recommend them. I only spent a weekend messing with them and this is what I was able to do. I've also only really started messing around with dynamic poses recently. I'm sure someone with more skills could really take it over the top. I also used to have a heavier Iron Man than that posed on there no problem. I have another stand I am using for a Yellow Jacket figure. I pieced together a stand that is almost 11 inches high and has held the figure with one clamp at the waist no problem. The set ups not finished, so I didn't bother with pics.

I also bought a set of the Matty Collector stands. I like the stands and they offer the ability for some cool poses. The only down sides are they are not clear, so then tend to stick out. They also are not very high off the ground and make posing figures with capes or size issues a pain. Real cool for jumping poses or using as leg clamps for medium size ML figures. Price on these is also an issue as they are no longer sold through the Matty Collector website. I'd like another set of these, but I see myself buying the Stage Act stands again first. I can get two sets of three for the same price as three of the Matty stands.

It will NOT hold heavier figures! Trust me dude. Also, they tend to weaken over time. Mine worked perfect at first and held basically every figure but the entire stand weakened with using it soo much. They are not nearly as strong as ml stands just to warn you. What you can do is superglue it into a postition your happy with, that helped a lot with mine. However it does hold standard or smaller 6" scale figures very nicely, such as the bullseye body for example it can hold well. Hope this helps!

Good to know. Just curious, were you using heavier figures or smaller ones? I Was hoping the act 5 ones would hold heavier figures because of what seemed like a ratchet style of the main post.

I think I had act 5 a while ago. They are pretty good however, over time with using it with 6" figures, I would not take the weight and broke, but it is perfect for 3.75" figures.

I've never heard of them, but they have a really nice look. Let us know how they are once you get them bud.
