I need some help on an easy way to make scales. I plan on making a Serpentor (google it young folks) Sigma 6. HIs entire suit of armor is cover in Snake scales. I was wonder if there is something to use or some technik that will allow me to maks scales more quickly than 1 at a time.

Any input is welcome

gaandww has the right idea if you want to take the sculpting route. I use a very thin but stuff wire and cut under the clay, lifting it up a little. If you don't want to sculpt, check out the metal scale purses in the ladies dept as I've cut up those for scalemail and chainmail quite a bit. Good luck!

I realize scales are hard but here isomething I do. Take a paper clip and find a hard cylnder object the aprox size of the scales you are going to make. Then bend U/C shapes as close as you want the scales. I usually make 4-6 of these and press this home fashioned tool into sculpty. Plus then you have a new tool to the aresenal

Buy a bag of sequins (Small shiney round discs) at a fabric store. It will be a pain to glue em all and paint em but would probably look ok. You coulds put a lite coat of sculpy and use a small "U" shaped tool also. Just a thought
