What is the best paint for joints?

Posted in Custom Workstation

I have a gijoe base custom and I need to paint him. I've tried some arylic paint but the joints wore the paint off.

I need to know what kind of paint to use to keep my joints painted and not chipped.

Thanks guys!!!

No problem! But I think if you've got a really tight joint that is rubbing hard the only way to defeat it it to alter it with some sanding.

Vallejo paints eh?

I will have to try that out.

You can also sand the area that is rubbing the paint until it doesn't touch anymore.

Kyle R. says that Vallejo Paints hold up pretty good in the joint areas.

I like to use a permanent marker on the joint first then paint over it in the matching color. This way if the paint comes off you still have a similar color covering the area.

Well really there isnt any paint that fixes this, it happens very frequently. There are several methods you could do to help the paint though:

1. LIGHTLY coat the joint with superglue, let it dry and them pait over. You'll lose some paint but not as bad.

2. Either water down a drop of paint or your brush and go over the area until you are satisfied, just keep it diluted to a certain point. It won't go on as dark as it normally would but it works pretty well
