BROKEN! Right out of the package!

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Okay... I can forgive a bent limb or two from a figure in the package - it happens. Too much force used when packing, twisty ties wrench it o to one side...

Gods, I *loathe* twisty ties. Can somebody tell me what the point of them is, when the figure is already in a body molded support?

But what I can't forgive is a figure that's broken before I take it out of the packing. It's happened three times to me now...

A blacksuited ML Wasp - right hip joint torn off at the bottom of the thigh peg.

ML Hulk Buster Iron Man - left hand again torn off the peg. Fortunately, he was going to loose it anyways, but... grrrr.

And a DCSH Batman - I think the second version? The one with the Bluegrey body, Deeper blue boots/gloves and tiny, tiny pinhead - that again was broken at the hip joint.

Can't just be my bad luck, can it? Anybody else had a busted figure straight from package?

When I got Wonderman his head was broken. ManThing had an arm off and my White Queen came with the wrong BAF. I find the Hasbro figures better, the elastic dosent take 20 minutes to open. Toybiz wrapped their stuff for space travel.

I had a Beta Ray Bill to come with two left legs. Luckily I found a another one for $3.50 during a Targer Clearance sale.

My Psylockes arm joint the swivel right below the elbow broke when I took her out and I couldn't get it to fit right so I had to super glue it

I've usually only had problems with McFarlane toys being broke but I do get quite a few double piecers though (2 left thighs, 2 right hands etc. . .)

That is true, GJ. It'd be quite simple to just slice open the package and pop the guy out without the twists or rubberbands that Hasbro uses.

well kern, from what I've heard, the twisties are there to prevent parts such as the BAF parts from being stolen or the figure itself, I guess? sounds reasonable to have it right?

That should be a fairly easy fix with some really hot water. Kern is complaining about the need to actually repair something that he bought as new.

Weel this might not count but both Venoms from the SMC (the big ones). They bothy has the right knee pegs not fully in the leg so it gets annoying

I usually examine them closely before buying them, but I've had one or two I needed that there weren't doubles of.
