Justice Friends, Assemble!

Posted in Custom Workstation

If any of you remember the cartoon Dexter's Laboratory, you probably remember the Justice Friends. A few months ago, I decided that I would try to make atleast the 3 main characters, but I'm not entirely sure what I need to get for some of them.

The Infraggable Krunk:
The easiest of the three, I'm going to use a House of M Hulk body with 1st App. Hulk head.

Major Glory:
I was originally planning on using a DCSH Superman with Boots & gloves from Captain America, but thanks to Four Horsemen & Mattel for the classic Red Tornado, I'll use him since he has a similar body to Supes, plus the same type of gloves and boots I need.
I need Help deciding what to use for the head though, but that actually probably won't matter a whole lot since I'll have to sculpt the mask, and probably have to sculpt the chin.

Val Hallen:
The one I'm having the most trouble with. I think Val Hallen looks just a little more muscular than Major Glory, so I'm not sure whether I should use a DCSH Superman or a DCSH Bizarro.
Then I'll probably use SOTA SF Ken's head, and sculpt the longer hair.
And then the thing I'm the most unsure about is what to use for his tattered shirt and guitar, because so far I am not aware of any tattered shirts of that size or any 1:12 scale Flying V style guitars.

Well, I already have a plan for the main three, but they'll need some villians/other heroes to fight/pose with.
What villians and other heroes should be made?

Others likely to be made: White Tiger, Speeding Bullet, Monkey, Rasslor.

I was already thinking about what to use for Rasslor, and I was wondering, which body would work better: LCBH Savage Dragon or LCBH Vanguard?

I did use sculpt on some of Hulk's face. Not sure if I'll need to do any more on it though.

I still think I should use Bizarro though, since Val HallAn doesn't have huge hands. Plus I already have a Bizarro with head and cape removed that I was planning on using for something else, but I can get another Bizarro for $6.92 anyway, and I would have to spend $10 to get another Savage Dragon.

I think for Major Glory, I'll probably use the DCSH Kal-El head I have left over from Goku, and sculpt the chin and mask.

So I just need to get the guitar from that Kirk Hammett figure and a tattered shirt and I can start Val Hallan.

I hope to see your guys's soon as well, and with my procrastination, you guys will probably get them done before me.

Haha aw I was just thinking of doing some customs of these guys too. I was talking about it with my custom buddy last week. Hope to see your's soon! I was thinking of going the way of the real animated look so I'm probably going to look for some really stylized base figures. Maybe some of the Justice Leage figs. Happy Customizing!

Personally I would use the Hulk and maybe resculpt the face and for Major Glory(or Flag Man) as reffered I would go with one of the DCSH bodies and maybe sculpt from there to get it right, as for Val Hallen, Savage Dragon would be good and itd just be a matter of finding or sculpting his hair.

(That episode where Dexter actually makes Major Glory action figure that really work is hilarious)...I still want one lol.

I'm not all that familiar with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so I don't really know who you mean by the immortal dude.
Also, are you just using the abbreviation TMNT, or are you referring to the new movie? The only guy I can think of, if you are talking about the new movie, is that guy that wears a hockey mask.
Then what do you mean for the Superman head? Use that instead of Ken's head, or just use his his hair? And I'd rather go with attempting to find a guitar, than making one myself, it'd likely look better that way anyway.

I think Savage Dragon might be a bit too bulky.

Edit:
So far, the best thing I can find for a Flying V is from a McFarlane Metallica Kirk Hammett Figure.

Dude was just a palette swap with the Hulk anyway... Good idea!

I'm digging the Red Tornado base... I wanna say grab a TMNT figure the immortal dude? He has the chin already, and the helmet should be easy to craft. Just use Clamshell plastic for the wings.

Definitely, go with Bizzaro! Maybe grab one of the longhair Superman figures and slip his hair in his face? Use either an old CD case for the "Flying V"

I liked those dudes so much! I wonder why someone hasn't acquired the rights to Cartoon network's Intellectual Property?
