best acrylics

Posted in Custom Workstation

I need help deciding which acrylics I should buy. I've heard good things about testors, but a lot of people use tamiya or games workshop. so far, I've been using craft-store type paint, and I really and getting sick of them. any suggestions?

You forgot Vallejo Game Color paints. Kyle and I both use em and I'll say I'd never use anything else. The best part is that you can mix colors so easily with the built in droppers. 2 drops of blue and one drop of yellow will always give the exact same shade of green, for example.

Wyld tells the truth. Testors I find is a bit more durable and sticks to bare plastic better than Games Workshop. But with a proper primer coat or Testors basecoat GW paints stick fine. You can also mix testors with GW paints to get a more durable paint. Like I mix testors Dragon White with GW lich purple to get the proper Magnetp/Sentinel shades and it ends up being more durable than just regular Lich Purple from the jar.

Testors, Citidal, and Tamiya are about the best to use. I personally use Tester Model Masters and Citidal( GamesWorkshop). These 3 also work well together and you can get a good wide range of color from these 3. Note though, the Citidal and Tamiya paints normally have to be thinned some to be smooth.
