Customizing is hardcore.

I cut myself twice on the same finger trying to crack open a figure to take the legs off.

Actually, I cut myself once then stabbed myself once. Neither incident really hurt that much, it hurt more to clean the cuts later. I had no idea my knife was so sharp...

Oy. I've never had to crack open a figure before so I was kinda driving blind. I had to get the Punisher's legs off which ended up with an almost completely destroyed Punisher torso. Not that I really needed it, but sometimes I will need it to stay intact. I suppose I should learn how to do that properly.

Veins don't have a pulse... only arteries. Arteries deliver blood right from the Heart to the slower moving flow of veins, which distribute it out to all the bits that need it. At least that's what I recall from Human Anatomy waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in High School. (When dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Seriously.)

As far as injuries go, when I was 12 or 13 I severed a tendon in my hand with an exacto knife while making a model of the Starship Enterprise, and to this day the top joint of one of my fingers doesn't bend.

Jesus dude! Try to lower your blood pressure! That and the thumb has a very large artery (or is it a vain?), which is why they tell you to not take a pulse using your thumb, but you index and middle finger. If it's practicle, wear workman's gloves or other tear and cut resistant fabric when handling knives while customizing.

Well the Punisher Torso didn't matter so much, but I did end up drilling a hole to get that damned thing off. But there was another one that I needed intact, and it wasn't on the upper torso that I needed to open it was the lower part, connected to the legs. Luckily that has a nice big hole there so I just had to pry it open.

Yeah...I was working on the fig for the Toysoup thing and jabbed my thumb with a screw-driver when opening a figure, there was blood EVERYWHERE. Lost like an ounce at least, I didn't know so much could come-out of such a little cut x_X

What I've found helps is if you're cracking a torso is to drill small holes on the seam just under both of the arms and then slowly work the torso apart with a small screwdriver.

Works for waists too - just drill on the seam on the bottom of the crotch.

Remember to go slow and easy so you don't break the piece you're opening. If the glue is really strong try sticking the figure in some very hot water for a minute to melt / loosen the glue.

At least it provides for interesting war stories.

Anyone who says toys are for kids obviously has never tried customzing. It's for real men.

yeah, it is dangerous. I piereced my skin when the pliers slid off the joint I was pushing in. It hurt like crap
