i need some pointers on painting figures

There is a book called 'How to paint citadel minituares' released in 2003 that is really good. It talks a lot about various techniques, but more importantly, it talks about how to properly blend colors, and various color palet info. If not for this book I'd still be making my greys with black and white, which is the worst worst way to do it.

I learned from JinSaotomis' tutorialls on this site and his own site.

have a look on ther games workshop sites for warhammer and warhammer 40K painting guides.
All of the good techniques, such as dry-brushing, Ink washes, shading, spraying and so on are there in good, easy to follow steps.

I know it isn't specific to figures, but the basics are there. Hope this helps.
