Questions about Paint

So what kinda paint do you guys recommend for an action figure? I'm thinking about repainting a Duke Nukem figure.

I use Apple Barrel after they stopped carrying Testors around here, but Testors was one of the best paints I've used. It sticks well and gets great coverage, and doesn't scrape off. Apple Barrel is cheaper, and does have somewhat a good coverage, but and bumps or bruises you may have will scrape the paint off. I barely have the patience to paint coats, I did do it one time and it isn't the solid look I was looking for.

by using several light coats instead of one thick coat..does it mean, u use one light coat and then after it dries..use another light coat over it? how many coats to get a good long lasting paint job? and how much water do u use to dilute ur paints?

Vallejo, Citadel, Tamiya, and Model Masters. I use cheapo craft paints....cause their cheap, but they work for me. The others are more expensive but a better quality paint.
