Creating a figure from scratch

Posted in Custom Workstation

Anybody have any advice, recommendations or anecdotes to share with me?

I want to create, from scratch, a Power Girl figure on a few accounts firstly, I just really want a PG action figure. Second, I haven't found a good sculpt or Action figure of PG I liked. And third, I just want to see if I can do it. My primary inspiration for the figure will be drawn from an Alex Ross Painting

I'm not really new to sculpting or painting, but I'm not certain on the particulars of how to build and put joints together, and also what will or won't work to keep it together especially when making a figure out of sculpting materials. I think it can be done, but I'm not certain. I don't know how active or regular I'll be I have many venues of artistic expression and I tend to waffle back and forth on what my primary medium is.

I make plushies, I sculpt, I draw, I'm a professionally trained taxidermist, and I want to make fursuits. In addition to whimsy, I tend to be constrained by what materials I have on hand.
