Sculpting compounds

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hello all!! I am a new official Realmer but have been a long time visitor. I had a question about different sculpting compounds. I hear that Aves Apoxie Sculpt is the best but I also hear about Sculpey. I can't afford Aves at the moment but found Sculpey at the local Hobby Lobby. Since Aves air-hardens and the Sculpy needs to be placed in the oven, can you still do all of the things (sanding, painting, etc.) that you can with Aves? Which do you recommend? Thanks for your assistance.

I follow a guy on Deviant art who uses Makins Clay. It comes in all colors and is just a air hardening clay.
You can dip Sculpty in boiling water to harden it, and it shouldn't hurt the figure.
