Custom Spiderman Figure, Suggestions, criticisms etc.

Posted in Custom Workstation

So I'm new to the custom game and really have few figures which I've bought that I was willing to experiment with and potentially ruin as these things don't run cheap.

Basically I was in the process of creating a armored Spiderman from this Marvel Select Spiderman recently repaired. Anyways I started with painting all of the blue to a basic lamplight black. Before I painted the red silver, I noticed the similarity to the Red Lantern design and decided to leave it for now. I added an old fodder batman cape and the arm accessories from an electric red Supes.

Basic Recipe:
Spiderman figure
Paint the blue to black and seal.
Added fodder cape and electric arm accessories from DC Universe Classics Superman Red.

So while I think it looks "OK", it doesn't feel complete especially when compared to some of the other Spiderman customs (see green lantern spidey at figure realm etc.) Any suggestions on what it needs or criticisms are what I'm looking for or it even looks close to a red lantern in the first place or if it might be better to just forget about it and go to armored Spidey. Agreed its not the most inspired figure but perhaps it could be.

Thanks for any help, appreciate it.

I can't seem to post links yet, but if anybody is interested in suggesting things, I can likely msg them.

Thanks guys,
I'd like to post a photo but apparently I need to be more active before that happens which is fine.

Invis, actually you are correct. Initially I was going to create an armored spiderman, fairly basic repaint, replace blue parts with black, red parts with silver. Its only after the fact that I decided to change direction. I'm going to start with a drawing and go from there.

Appreciate the advice!

I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but I guess you should have a finished product in mind before you even start? Like, draw it on a piece of paper and label everything it's supposed to have maybe. If you've already started and you're not sure about the parts or colors... then that is a problem. Make a final idea before you continue, have it pictured in your head (and on paper if possible)
