Painting help .

Posted in Custom Workstation

Right so when I get my rotary tool ( after deciding not too stop customising ) I am planning on making a red hulk figure out ou a meastro hulk . I was going to have like he has burst out of his like army camouflage trousers - but any I have a question about how I would paint him :
- would I first paint the top half red then give it like a black wash ?
- paint it black the drybrush it red ?
- or any other ways to add detail ?

Thanks for all the support guys .

I've always used dry brushing. it's really fun to do. you should try it bro!
just cover the figure with black paints and then use a big hard bristled brush to run through the figure and dry brush it. you can look at the tutorials section on how to do dry brushing as it's really hard to explain it without the use of pictures.
and about what the count said. after dry brushing, you could put on a little wash to add more depth on the figure.

just go through the whole tutorial section, they have very detailed instructions and step by step process there. it would help a lot with your works.

what he said. mastro has so many cracks and bumps. I also , when I'm done I usually go around and do a wash touch up for shadows.
and some other dark stffs to add shadows.

I would go with the drybrushing because it really brings out the detail of the sculpt on meastro. I wouldn't go strait from black to red though. I would move up by going from black to very dark red, then to medium red, then to bright red etc.
