LED help?

Posted in Custom Workstation

So I salvaged this from a moon stone figure. I know almost nothing about LED's but want to learn them. Any help getting the two parts in the back out of can I just cut the wires?

I forgot to mention, the first site link also sells pre assembled kits really cheap. So all you would need to do is make the holes where you want to install them, solder two wires, and heat the shrink tubing. Pop the battery in and you're done. Model train enthusiasts are sorta the authority on small LED applications.
