CUSTOM MADE PLAYSETS

Posted in Custom Workstation

I am working on what I call an avengers tower, and was wondering if any one out there has ever done playsets.
I am looking for someone to swap ideals with. I will be posting pics of it after THANKSGIVING although it is only about half complete. I have some really good ideals for other playsets (or I think I do). they say 2 heads are better than 1 just imagine 10 or more what we could do. I have found a few websites for custom figs (figure realm seems to be the best) but nothing on playsets. SO HEY FIGURE REALM LETS START A PLAYSET CATAGORY. SO IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN CUSTOM MADE PLAYSETS LMK. THANKS GUYS!!!!!

I'm researching the playset idea now. I guess it would be a collector only thing. It would be hard to make one for kids. I work mostly in foamcore and matte board so a kid would destroy that in less than 30 minutes. What are some playset ideas you would like to see. ToyCrazy contact me so we can kick some ideas around.

I'm working on some Do-it-yourself large diorama ideas with a local sign company. When the peal and stick paper comes in I'll be designing 2 foot x 8 foot, 4 foot x 4 foot, and 4 foot x 8 foot wall graphics for display playsets. I've already designed 8 level (1 foot tall) GI Joe, Star Wars, Marvel Comics-S.H.I.E.L.D. BASE-Fantastic Four Headquarters-Hulk Buster Base-Avengers Headquarters, DC Comics-Justice League Headquarters-Titans Tower, etc. I'm also working on a Batcave with the Wayne library as the top floor. I've sketched out an idea for a sewer level, subway level, street level, bulding front, and rooftop, sky levels. The graphic sticks to the wall with doors and door frames that peal and stick for personal placement. I will be building shelves, platforms, catwalks, stair sets, and ladders for more customization. I'm also thinking about monitor screens, consoles, control panels, chairs, etc. You buy the parts and put it together the way you want to. I'll also furnish computer templates so you can print out your own logos, monitor screens, etc. on sticker paper or sticker transparancies.

Its an idea in progress. Give me some input.

I make a lot of custom playsets for local customers. I'm a commercial artist/graphic designer and make mine using computer graphics from Photoshop with textures that I put together from photos, textures and logos I find on the web. I also create textures in Photoshop.
I haven't posted enough here to know how to add in photos. I have photos on Facebook listed under George Clifton and Clifton Custom Toys, Displays, and Graphics.

I've made a couple, both sculpted completely from scratch:

TMNT: The Arcade Game "Shogun Showdown"

Splatterhouse "The House That Splatter Built"

Not a whole lot I can say about constructing play sets, other than that they're a heck of a lot of work!

You can also check out Figure Realm's Diorama Contest results to see a bunch of them:
