Paint situation

Posted in Custom Workstation

I've been looking at several paints that arent too expensive. The problem is the one that both my wife and I found is at walmart. Everyone told me not to get the stuff from walmart. I just want to know what yall think about it so that I can continue on my crusade to find the right paint. Im looking for a good starter set with all the options possible.

Reeves Acrylic Paint Sets set of 24

What do yall think? I really need help with this.

Thanks, everyone. I ordered some tamiya paints as well as some of the Martha Stewart line (my wife found these). I'm working hard on my first custom to put on this site. Hopefully soon it will be done. I will pick up those walmart paints later to use just for highlights.

Careful with the Citadels. There have been a lot of complaints since they redid their line. Testors Model Masters and tamiya work very well. reaper paints are great if you want a very flat finish. Those craft paints are o.k. to highlight but not as a base or main color. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for.

personally I would steer clear of the walmart paint.
You would be much better off finding some citadel paint as it is a much better quality and is designed to be applied to plastic figures.
P3 paints are very good as well but I found they take a bit more getting used to.
Both are readily available either from a games workshop or any place that host warhammer type table games.
Also I would suggest starting small and getting 5 or 6 colors to start with and slowly build up from there, I know when I started I bought every color under the sun and half of them dried out before I even had a use for them.

I don't suggest getting those paints. They're craft paints and they won't work well with a custom action figure (assuming you need it for that) . You might want to try brands like citadel , testors model masters acrylic. However , these paints are very hard to find locally, you can get a few bottles on eBay for around $3-4 for 12ml. Thanks and theys work great!
