Best brushes for small details on heads

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hi, I was wondering what are some reasonably priced brushes to use on marvel legends size heads. I particularly want to know what size and brand to use. What size is best for eyes because Im having trouble painting them. Id like to use more casted heads but its kinda hard when you have trouble with eyes. Thanks

Thanks for all the advice. I've tried using toothpicks and sewing needles. toothpicks seem to work well for the whites of the eyes but I was having trouble with pupils. So I think I try some brushes for that and just combine techniques. Thanks again!

I generally use either a toothpick or the tip of a sewing needle to do eyes, but a very fine brush is just as good, provided you've got steady hands.

Some people swear by toothpicks for painting eyes too. Personally I use a fine detail brush from games workshop.

I don't know if you use in the States the same sizing methods for brushes as we do in Europe, but the general idea is to use the smalles you can find. Something like 000 size should be ok for eyes.

18/0 Anywhere between 5 and 10 bucks should get you a decent brush.
