McFarlane Spidey Custom

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the community and this will be my first custom. I like the new spiderman infinite series bodies, but I really want the Mcfarlane look but that figure costs sooo much money!!! I need some help, I like the look of the Superior Spiderman body better than the ASM2 just cause I think he's more muscular and has awesome articulation (better than the FF spidey) doesn't have the weird butterfly joints on the shoulders...

What other base bodies would you guys recommend? or how should I start to go about this? Where can I get the McFarlane head cast? I'll read up on what paints to use..but if any of you have done this with the new Hasbro stuff I'd really appreciate your input!

I'm not sure if this is the right etiquette either, sorry if I'm showing such poor etiquette...

Check out CKCastings web site, they have lots of casts available - not just heads. I'v e bought a few things from him before, he knows what he is doing.

I'm new here, too. Since I've been doing a lot of research on action figure custom, I found out about the action figure lot. I should have done this a long time ago, because now almost all my new figures are damaged from customizing, and I made a lot of mistakes. If I were you, I'd go look for "action figure lot" in ebay, try "marvel legends action figure lot" if you want more articulated joints of Spiderman. You'll be surprised at how cheap they are. Also, try looking for cheap action figures from the dollar store. I used the cheap action figure's elbows for my figure's knees, then glued it unto other parts of plastic, then sculpted on top of it with Aves Apoxie sculpt.

For a McFarlane head, you can try finding one in ebay as well. There is one guy who does a lot of head casts in ebay, and his username is 9211kevinm. http://www.ebay.com/sch/9311kevinm/m.ht ... pg=&_from=
