Where to purchase ball joints and knee hinges?

Posted in Custom Workstation

One thing I have a hard time finding without spending an arm and a leg are DC figures (Superman, Batman, etc...) that have good articulation. Many have stiff legs or arms. I've always been a fan of the Marvel Universe figures and at least that type of articulation. I've seen some great tutorials up here at Figure Realm that has really lit the flame for wanting to customize figures.

Is there a place I can purchase ball joints (for figure shoulders and hips)?
Is there a place I can purchase limp hinges (for figure knees and elbows)?

For example, notice Wolverine's hip joints below:

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm referring mainly to 3.75" size figures. I've seen some cool figures out there for good prices, but then find out that they have little to no articulation. I don't mind a little crafty work if I knew where to find resources/materials.

Any advice?

Thanks!

If you want a bunch of loose joints you could try casting some, or having someone else do so for you if you don't have the skills/know-how. I imagine that double peg knee/elbow joints are pretty easy to produce, ball-joints, on the other hand, especially the pin-and-disc variety, are more complex.

Revoltech joints might work for many of projects you have in mind.
