How to: METROID figure? ,('.',

I need an easy way to make a metroid figure.(img-below)
the only idea I have would be to
make the head , mouth/teeth and innards out of clay first and separate.
mold and paint mouth and innards , put them together.
and while the head part is fresh, lower the innards into the dyed green clear resin head.
let it cure , remove it polish it add finishing translucent paints.

if it didn't position right you'd still have the original clay and the molds to make new ones
