Which is your ALL-TIME FAVORITE BASE FIG 4 Customs?

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Now there are a quite a few to choose from. Those of us who are addicted to the 6 in scale will probably shot out:"Bullseye!" And yes, u cannot touch him he's that cool. Or u can, chop him up and make the 5301st Deadpool or 962nd Snake Eyes! Even Marvel knew how sweet a base he was by incorporating multiple (albeit lesser) versions all over the place.

BUT WHO ELSE?

I think there are some awesome bases out there that make me wish I had like 43 of 'em. To me, a perfect base has is one with great articulation, and has a 1000 uses. Here's my list:

ML10 Black Panther
TDK's Goon
Savage Dragon
ML4 Punisher
ML8 Black Widow

You guys must have faves of your own, so what are they?

LMK!

I usually use the ML bodies. but I have'nt done many "hero" figures, I've done mostly dragons. mcfarlane is a good start that way!

DCUC are what I prefer to use.

MLs are just too inconsistent. Maelstrom summed up my feelings about them too. one extra thing is that a lot of the MLs just seem scrawny compared to the DCUC.

I just completed my first couple of customs using DCUC figures as a base and think I may be switching primarily to them in the future...I like that the customs, as with the DCUC line, all flow together and have the same style...you can't really get that with ML...

Although I haven't completed a custom using one yet, I am really liking the DCUC lineup for base figures. Lot's of articulation is great, but sometimes the ML series just went overboard and added totally unnecessary articulation not only did not enhance the figure, but in many cases left them awkward looking. The DCUC base figures are a nice and simple platform to work from and if you need more articulation for one, you can just work in some ML parts or something. I am also glad to see a little bit of variance in the body sculpts...for instance, I know many people were turned of by the tiny version of Robin that DCUC did, but there are all kinds of possibilities for that as a base figure. The Sinestro figure is also nice as it provides a different physique than the standard bodies of most of the DCUC line-up. And don't forget the new female figures they have put out, the Wonder-Woman/Artemis figure has perhaps the best "near seamless" articulation in the hip/leg joint. I just wish they would have made Big Barda BIG!
