New Star Trek Movie Figures by Playmates

I think it is the 3.75 inch that are getting the playsets.
I hope they eventually make classic TV characters.

Great!...another line of awkward looking Trek figures!...Is Art Asylum doing any thru Diamond for this one?

I predict that this movie is going to be BIG! It will draw long-time Trekkies (There is probably WAAAAY more of them than we would ever venture to imagine), Sci-Fi fans, Fans of J.J. Abrams/LOST, as well as introducing Star Trek to a whole new, or if you will pardon the pun...next generation, and a few token teenybopper girls who simply want to see Chris Pine. The movie carries with it instant franchise name recognition, extraordinary talent, and a return to Star Trek's roots. I think this will re-energize the Star Trek phenomena. Additionally, with these waves of new figures of differing scales, you can have the Federation take on the Sith lords, G.I. Joe, Marvel Legends, DCUC, etc....

I'm glad there are new figures for the movie but they're not very pretty. I've never really like Playmates' Star Trek figures.
