Metal casting?

Posted in Custom Workstation

I basically want a metal copy(with articulations) of one of my figure's. I want to know if there any site and such that offers that kind of service, perferably at a reasonable price.

if you're doing pewter than there are actually silicon molds you can make, like most of us casters use. The catalog I order from has books on it. We cast pewter for fittings on our swords. It can be a pain and most any casting would require a lot of cleanup removing flash and such. Most likely no matter what even for a basic one you're looking at a few hundred bucks maybe.

Just a question (I can't do anything to help), what kind of metal are you wanting it cast in? pewter? iron? bronze? You could probably do it yourself if you use plaster molds and cast in pewter due to the fairly low melting point of pewter.

Any caster should be able to do that for you. The molding compound I use can also handle some metals. You just have to find a caster that is set up for metal pouring.

If there is such a site, I guarantee the price will not be reasonable.
