Favorite Thor figure?

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

What is your favorite Thor figure? At present the Marvel Select Thor has that title. He earns it because of his sculpt and paint scheme, since he is not a ML figure is suffers a bit on the articulation side. #2 is the King Thor figure, my only gripe is that I think his costume should have been a darker blue. I place the ML wave 3 Thor above the walmart wave version due to his size, he and my Hercules figure are comparable, the WM figure is far too small and he can barely stand due to the heaviness of his cape. Of course the Wave 3 had problems standing too. I do have a superhero showdown and marvel Universe ( one of my two universe figures) versions but they are not in the same class as the larger figures imo.

Believe it or not the new MLs Thor is my first Thor fig. I just wasn't grooving on past versions enough to pull the trigger. But I'm really glad I have him and he won't even need much customization. I've of course seen Thors on the Realm that are way mo' betta' but I think here we're talking just factory versions eh? Cheers everybody!

My favorite is the ML Terrax series Thor. I haven't actually taken mine out of the box to give him a closer inspection, but the urge to free him is a constant problem. Aside from that, I really liked the Lord of Asgard Thor, and kind of the 6 inch ML equivalent movie Thor (after one fixes his strange crossed eyes.)

I have to add the new ML modern Thor. I started not to buy him because I have the MS Thor but I bit the bullet anyway. He is very similar to the MS vesion except that he has a bit more articulation and might be just slightly taller.

I've seen some of the new 4inch movie figures and I'm not that impressed so far. I always wanted a 6 or 7inch odin figure but I guess I will have to stick to customizing one someday. They look cheaply done and the lighting strike thor version lacks arm articulation as far as I can see.

for me, the Giant Man Series Thor my #1 -- though it has issues with the Cape weight affecting the waist, knees and poseablity.

next one will be the MS THOR (coipel) -- though it has wrist issues and as usual, the articulation issues

last will be the first TBML Thor -- the absence of Upper and Lower Torso Articulation kinda messed it up but the size gives it a point

The MS Thor has around 15 or 18 points of articulation. Not as much as a Marvel Legends figure but far more than a recent Mcfarlane figure imo. I agree that if the WM figure was a bit more beefy he would be a lot better.

I love the Arnie Schwarzennerger TBML one, as he is Thor scale next to the other avengers, and looks good compared with Loki, Destroyer, Herc and Hulk. The detail onm the WM one is nicer and the colours slightly brighter, but he is too weedy in comparison to Cap and Iron Man.
MS one is nice, but they are out of scale and non - articulated, so I disregard them.
