This is one of my first customs. I did this one and two more just like it before I started repainting any figures. I thought that it would be fairly easy to create new figures from old body parts that I could just put together. I was wrong. This figure started out as a broken anniversary edition boba fett figure. I completely pulled the figure apart uing the boil and pop method, then I split the torso. I created a mold for each part using alumilite molding rubber and legos to build the housing for the molds. After creating a two-sided mold for each part. I casted the pieces using alumilite plastic resin. Customizing figures this way takes a long time due to the amount of time you have to let the alumilite products cure. I like the fact that I was able to mold and cast this figure my first time ever using any kind of molding and casting products. The figure lacks too much. The figure is missing detail that the alumilite left out and the painting is definitely not my best work. Another disadvantage of doing a custom this way is the lack of articulation. This figure only moves at the shoulders, hips, and head. Its cool that this one isn't just a repaint, but sometimes I think the repaints look better.
