Ayame (Misc) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:1856
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Misc
Date Added:February 27, 2007
Base Figure:ML Psylocke
Height:5.60 inches
Ayame is the female character in the Tenchu games. She is a small, quick and deadly assassin. She weilds two kodachi and kills her enemies with ruthless determination. In the game, her attacks are weaker, but she is quicker. But being weaker doesn't matter when you stealthly kill your enemy without them knowing you are there.

I used a Psylocke base for this figure. Her pants, hair and armor are all scuplted with Apoxie Sculpt. The wrist armour was scuplted over a cut straw to still cover her forearms, but retain the articulation. Her kodachi are kebob skewers cut and sharpened and wrapped in elastic. Her back pouch is from a Commando Spawn figure and her scabbards are straws. The kodachi are held in place both in the scabbard and her hands by magnets. Her ninja grappling hook is made from a paperclip that was cut, bent and soldered together and some black string added as rope.

I've actually never done any 1:6 scale weapons. I stick to 1:12 because it saves on material costs. I have to use twice as much stuff on something that takes up a lot more space. I don't actually know what you'd use of a 1:6 sword or anything like that.

I was browsing in the custom showcase and ran into your figure. Great one, every time I browse this site I discover new and amazing figures, I have played that game and the likeness is amazing. The weapons in particular are very well made. Have you ever done weapons in 1:6 scale a Katana or any other ninja items? I regularly search the net for parts and usually the custom made weapons in large scale are horrible but the ones you created for this figure are amazing. If I ever get the urge to create a large scale ninja custom I'll let you know maybe we can colaborate on the figure I built the figure you provide the weapons (obviously after proper monetary exchange or perhaps a trade). Great work.

Well thanks Shins, but I guess the voting speaks for itself. I think everyone did a great job this time around and look forward to seeing the next contest entries.
I'll see about following your advice though for the listing. Something like "Marvel Legends Custom Tenchu PS2 Ninja Ayame" and second line "with real steel weapons custom by VariablePenguin"

Anyone think this would sell well (more than $30)? I'd need to take more pictures of course, but whatcha think?
