Time for no. 58, and the next in my Darkstalkers set, Sasquatch! Unlike most of the stuff I do, this one wasn't sitting on my desk for weeks/months waiting to be finished, however, I did intend to make him months ago when I found a DC Kong figure in a bargain bin for 5 bucks but had no idea how to proceed. A few days ago, I saw something in my parts bin that gave me an idea on how to make this guy, so here's the build breakdown:

Head: Helmet from a Megaman Mettaur, cut, grafted, and heavy sculpt work done for the face, fangs and fur.
Body: DC Kong, one finger cut off of each hand; shaved down and sculpted at crotch
Feet: Sota E. Honda, drilled for new joints from DC Toyman, sculpt for cuffs around ankles.

That's it! Pretty simple stuff for what started off as a head-scratcher; the paint job was the easiest part for a change with the exception of the gums and the 'gloss' on the eyes. I think he looks pretty neat/cute, and I hope you all like him too! Thanks, and I'll be back with more soon; until then...

Thanks for posting guys! Always great to hear from you OneFist (big fan of your work!), and TattMe619, I love your Darkstalkers (still thinking about that Talbain you made), and I always value your honesty with me Patraw; it's helped me push myself to try and remember the small details when I work on a project, although sometimes I still falter. All I can say is that I will do my best to make the next ones better! Thank you all so much for taking an interest in my work. Cheers!

I can appreciate the effort you've put into this, but the proportions/anatomy are lacking in comparison to the source material. Sasquatch is a very fat, hairy, squat fellow--he needs to be shorter/wider, bulkier, and hairier than this to match the game's look. I can't really think of any toys that would have the proper proportions off the top of my head, so I can sympathize in regards to finding the right base body for the character. I also think you'd have to do substantially more sculpting work, particularly for the fur, which needs to be bushier/longer and more abundant. Generally I like your Darkstalkers customs, but, unfortunately, I don't think this one is up to the same level of quality of your previous efforts.

Very nicely done sir! Its been awhile since I played any Darkstalkers games, so I looked up some ref. pics when I saw this, and man is it ever accurate! The sculpt looks great and the paints are fantastic! Def. one of the best all white figs I've ever seen. Great work as always!
