Deadlock (Image) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:29488
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Image
Date Added:May 13, 2011
Base Figure:MLs
Height:6.00 inches
Good day guys! Here's another Liefeld creation for you. It's the ex-villain, Deadlock! By the looks of him, he's based on some obscure war-freak, hero from Marvel that has claws popping out of his knuckles. What kind of power is that :D? This figure was made from the following parts: ML6 Wolvie head, FO Punisher body, Ryu fists.

More/bigger pics can be seen when you enter the thread. Hope you like him. God bless.

Wow! It seems all the humor and back-storied opinions have already been made! It really is like a liefeld book where the writers are trying to make sense of the drawing- pointless backstory, add lib, pointless backstory, add lib, drool, and cut to fight scene! Awesome figure! I grew up reading a lot of these characters!

I hate that rob liefeld has characters you customized! He's not good enough for that honour!
Even though I'm not a fan of the character, I think you did a great job as usual.

Thanks bro. Well.... that Wolverine guy actually DID steal Deadlock's costume. Real shame...
As for the fists, a lot of thinking goes into the design process...
Dave: "Deadlock is some hand-to-hand-guy. Open hands... he slaps his oponents? He needs scary fists!"
Jeff the Corvette: "OK. We got Wonderwoman, Robin, Shazam and Ryu fists..."
Dave: "Let's go with the Ryus! They look harder !"
Jeff the Corvette: "That would be $3"
Dave: "Three dollars!?! "

Hey, there is some obscure guy named Wolverine posted just after this guy--he could actually steal this costume, tweak it a bit, and it would probably work well for his hair and look. If he would have done something like that I bet he might have made a few issues somewhere. Probably isn't too late to steal shamelessly, he may yet have a future if he can capitalize on Deadlock's design and fame.
On a different note, a guy who is completely ignorant to the customizing processes and sits in awe of what you do is led to ask a lot of questions when he sees magnificence born from mediocrity, which is what I would consider the better ML figures. So, for a guy who still doesn't know exactly what it means to dremel, what is the decision process that leads to a, "Let's go with Ryu's fists for this figure"? Seems like such a small aspect of the figure, yet it also seems like the decision is purposeful and considered much, which is one of the reasons why you are so good at what you do. My customizing-ignorant brain just can't wrap around the concept of choosing all the way down to the fist level, which is why I am a customer and not a customizer I guess. Well done, as always.
