Secret Agent Wolverine (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:42938
Name:Secret Agent Wolverine
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Date Added:September 22, 2012
Base Figure:Hasbro Nick Fury (seriously)
Height:5.00 inches
This sawed off, hairy little fireplug began as a Hasbro Captain America movie series Nick Fury. Since I was using the jacket for Kestrel/Wraith any way, I got hit with inspiration to use the rest of the body to make a fairly elaborate custom. I began by cracking the torso and transplanting the shoulders from Nick Fury out and the shoulders of Xmen 2 pack. I think shortened the legs and then transplanted a neck since I used Fury's neck in a different custom. Added a webbing gear/holster piece. painted.

Thank you! I always thought the concept was a pretty neat one. A government special ops team with super powers... I love it. I just hoped that the shortened height was as obvious to see in the pics. lol

Thaks! I just couldn't stand all the yellow on the suits for an infiltration team so it had to go for these two. Maverick's armor will be his orange-ish armor, so he's the exception in my world. lol

Thanks! I am really proud of the final look. I was afraid I might not get the pants to look right but I feel good about him. Praise from so many of you guys makes me feel really solid about him.

Good job! At first, I thought of the ridiculously tall Fury/Punisher body and thought it was all wrong for Wolverine. But, seeing that you shortened the legs, changed the shoulders, and added a new neck it looks good and doesn't look too tall at all.

I would never think of using that body for Wolverine, but it just shows how inventive and creative people can be. Keep up the good work!

I already had a new Maverick on the work bench and was looking at the remains of one of my Nick Fury bodies and I had thought to myself that it was a shame there wasn't a shorter version I could use to make Wolvie to go with him and then the whole thing kinda blossomed in my head. I had the body for Kestrel that was originally going to be Night Thrasher, but then realized he could easily become Kestrel instead and I couldn't stop seeing things. I grabbed the nick body and my Dremel, cut through both legs, then cut off the ankles, hollowed out the shins ad slid the boots in to the shins to shorten the legs even more. I used shorter arms than Fury so I wouldn't have to shorten them, then I saw that the torso was just too long, so I cut that above the waist and filled the cavity with Apoxie Sculpt then sculpted around it on the outside. Then sculpted over the pants to unify them. After his black base coat I couldn't find anything obvious that said this wasn't a factory designed body so I felt good about where it was going.

Keep on using the recipes that just pop into your head, because they work! Maybe I'm going to have to lay out a bunch of fodder parts and bodies and see what just pops in my head.
