Took some time off from doing home renovations and worked on this lil guy. Got this resin kit a few years back from Thailand, and never had the compulsion to complete it till now. A relatively easy kit to assemble, decided to modify the pose with the arms apart rather than placed together. It shows more of a pounce stance, like being engarde, instead of following the fetal position (as the kit photo suggests).
There's a smorgasbord of colors going on, different shades of green, some browns and added thin traces of purple. Some of the paints make certain parts look necrotized, while other areas may appear almost like nebulae. Started with the darkest color for base and went a lighter tone with every increment of color. There is such a thing as "over painting", and usually projects such as these will tempt those over zealous brushes. The trick is to paint lightly, and really look at the effects each stroke/application makes. Try to let the colors breathe, and don't be shy to let "mistakes" occur - sometimes winging it delivers the best results.
Thanks for checking this out.
